Throughout the writing process of an essay, a writer encounters a wide diversity of challenges and things that are easy. Writing a rhetorical essay is the same way. Every writer is different. Some have the ability to elaborate on simple ideas to give their papers more detail and thoroughly explain the idea. Other writers can find this as a challenge, which can cause their papers to not reach the minimum requirement needed for the prompt. While writing my rhetorical essay I experienced various challenges and learned a lot. One of the challenges I experienced was being able to describe in my own words what I thought the author’s reason of including certain ideas their text. The text was written in a different time period. Due to this, ideas can be interpreted many different ways. Not knowing what the author was thinking at the time of writing the story can present a challenge of not knowing how certain parts of the story pertain to what they are trying to present. …show more content…

While writing my rhetorical essay, my opinion did not change. In fact, once I delved deeper into the text, it reinforced the argument I was making. Throughout the text I was able to find multiple examples to help support my claim and possibly convince someone that my stance was valid. The most effective way to gauge yourself as a rhetor and a writer is by attempting to write a paper using rhetorical concepts or writing in general. This paper was my first time writing a rhetorical essay. I feel that I have a lot of improvement ahead of myself. Rhetoric can be challenging at times. While writing this paper I learned that once I get started writing I can keep it going. So, it is not good for me to stop working on a paper then picking it back up at a later time.
