During the Great Depression, a time where people lost money, houses, and their lives due to starvation, many countries were in desperate need of a new fresh start to life. This desperation lead to many dictators rising to power. Not only did the Great Depression cause drama in the United States of America, but it also happened in Italy, Spain, and Germany. Many more countries were involved in this, but these three countries are the ones where dictators took over. Germany happened to be one of the worst, though.
Adolf Hitler was the dictator rising to power in Germany. This man promised a new life and a new Germany. With the people of Germany being desperate for a new life they all voted for Hitler to become Chancellor of Germany. Hitler had always been believed in complete German nationalism. In 1932 when Hitler was named as Chancellor, he took over the legislative and executive branches of the German government. By 1933 the Nazi party of Germany was the only legal political party.
Hitler was slowly taking over Germany as he had planned. Soon enough Hitler was named as Leader, Chancellor, and Supreme Commander of the armed forces. This made Hitler soon mobilize for war. He removed Germany from the League of Nations and had made a mass expansion of Germany’s armed forces.
Before the Holocaust had started Hitler started banning such things as alcohol, meat, and smoking from the Nazi regime. Soon Hitler banned marriage against non Jewish Germans and Jewish Germans. This had lead to approximately 6 million Jews being killed. Hitler also targeted the “not usable” types of people. These were the ones who were old, very young, injured, sick, or ones with any type of disability. The deaths were taken place in mostly concentration o...

Although Hitler promised a new life for Germans, he did not give that to everyone. With killing off Jews and others that were not useful, they did not get the life that they expected. Hitler lost all that he had planned and the life of German citizens was better when he was gone.
