What subjects at school do I need for this job?
The Subjects that I would need for this career pathway are subjects like, P.E, English, Maths, Civics and Citizenship or any other subject that informs you about different parts of the law, many subjects in school could help me get into the detective career but these are the main subjects required for this career.
Where can I go to complete the training required?
Training required for getting into the police force or detective career is a little different from your normal career training. Usually to complete the training required for different jobs you have to go to TAFE or a university. For my chosen career path I have to join the police recruits. My training will then be performed on the base. Once I have completed my training I have to do four years of normal police service before I can do detective
The education requirements for this job are a bachelor's degree in forensic psychology or behavioral sciences, criminology, sociology, and criminal justice. Having a minimum of 3 years of related experience or a minimum of 3 years of experience being a FBI Special Agent. The RCMP requires that you must have a secondary school diploma or equivalent, in fact on one of their brochures it specifies that a Police Foundations course is not required because you will learn all of the necessary things that a RCMP officer needs to know at the RCMP police college in Regina. Based on the article “Steps to becoming a detective in Criminal Investigations” in order for a CSI to do his job they must have either a Major degree in forensics, Major degree in criminal justice, etc. These fields will most likely help the student/adult get a step closer to becoming a Crime Scene Investigator. As i mentioned before to enter CSI one must have two years of job experience as a police officer. “Many people without police training turn to college and universities for their education” (Hamilton 24). According to “Detective And Criminal Investigator Job, Salary, and School Information” Detectives and criminal investigators in public service environments do not require additional certification or licensing apart from their law enforcements badge.
I want to investigate, learn about different issues and put the pieces of Puzzle together. According to Wikipedia a detective is “an investigator, usually a member of a law enforcement agency. They often collect information to solve crimes by talking to witnesses and informants, collecting physical evidence, or searching records in data bases,” (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Detective) I want criminals to know they have done is wrong and law enforcement always find out at the end of the day. Criminology is the scientific study of crime and criminals.
I have most of these skills already form prior occupations, but I need to build on these skills to improve them. Building them would be simple because I can volunteer at police stations to gain work experience, and to take related courses Discovering Policing (Matrix Group International, Inc.). EDUCATION For my career, I will need at least a high school diploma, although many police stations are requiring applicants to have at least a two year college coursework or an associate's degree.

The primary reason I chose this job is because I have an interest science, and despise crime. A prerequisite to crime scene investigation (CSI) is having a Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or Biology, and/or a background with law enforcement. Although a background with law enforcement is not required, it is strongly recommended along with a degree. The working conditions of a criminalist may include working long hours, working at odd hours in the night, working in all weather conditions, carrying heavy equipment, and working in unsafe or unsanitary places.
