Dear Mr. Perry:
I am writing to you in regards to a recent article entitled Republicans Offer to Tax Carbon Emission, which appeared in Scientific American Magazine on February 8, 2017.
This article reported that a group of Republicans in the Climate Leadership Council of United States of America released a carbon-tax-and-divided plan to reduce carbon emissions to fight climate change. The carbon tax proposal indicated that tax carbon emissions would start at $40 a ton and rise $5 each year to cut emissions. The non-profit Carbon Tax Center decided on an increase of $5 tax on carbon emissions because other countries like Great Britain and China who have …show more content…

The Social Security Administration further stated that the money raised from the carbon-tax-and-divide-plan would be redistributed to every household in American through quarterly checks. They considered returning the money they raised through the carbon tax plan would be good for working-class Americans struggling to make ends meet, thus increasing public support for the climate change and minimizing human carbon footprints. The Republicans have brought forward an effective way to reduce carbon emissions, but they need to conduct more research and discuss details about how much money each American household would receive, what companies would be charged with carbon taxes, and how it would be governed and moderated. Climate change has become an issue within the last 50 years, so it is important to consider the Republicans carbon tax plan and bring forward the issue through letters, pamphlets, and meeting discussing the issue of global warming to Trump’s
