In chapter 8 of the book, Wilding in America, we discussed in the classroom about the global warming changes in United States, wilding against humanity, and political campaign against our environment. These are the most fundamental points being discussed in the presentation of wilding against the environment. The problem about global warming is that we the people are the cause of global warming changing. For instance, United States burn more oil, coal, and other fossil fuels that pours out catastrophic level of greenhouse creating a perfect storm. People need to reduce the use of carbon footprints because many companies like Exxon and Keystone XL did their dirty business that effect public health and environment. Political campaigns are part of the effect in global warming because they promise to go green but never make an effort. Obama forced to solve climate but fail to do so in 2008. Obama signed a billion that support teams of energy advisors and control carbon emissions. According to Derber, big business did not support the bill and tried to get rid of it. Fracking is a process used by fossil fuel companies to extract oil and gas from shale or other deep rocks. We are wilding against humanity. Considering that Derber state the following, “Our own addition to “stuff: makes us all complicit in climate change and in wilding against the plant.” This phrase is essential because it connects with my everyday life of always wishing for more even if I don’t need it. This information has change my eating habits and transportation routines. I should consider changing it for the best and engage my family in these behaviors. It has change the way I see things and most important I feel guilty for being part of the climate change for using lawn mowers, eating too much meat, and using carbon-spewing cars while being able to just walk. Definitely alter my thinking and actions in the future when it comes to choosing my meals and transportation routines. Trying to live the American dream that only keeps harming us more and more.
