The authors chose to write more about the event to shows bravery because in the two years of hiding it took a lot of bravery and courage into wanting to risk your life in that way. Hiding out while all the other jews are being taken, is a big risk because if the families were ever found they could have been killed by the Nazi but instead were taken to concentration camps.
