The Holocaust, one of the worst events in human history. Due to one man's vision, genocide tore through Europe without a stop. The man was, Adolf Hitler, an Austrian born man who fought for the Germans during the First World War. After World War II Hitler joined the Nazi party. After years of dedication to the party he rose through the ranks and became the leader of the Nazi party. After advertising the party and expanding it Hitler became a politician, and decided to run for public office. He was voted as the new Prime Minister of Germany. He changed laws so if the Chancellor were to die the Prime Minister would become the new Chancellor. Once Hitler became Chancellor history would be forever changed by his actions.

HItler created laws, named the "Nuremburg Race Laws," which set barriers on Jewish people. The laws would give all Jewish people a curfew and restricted them from using public transportation. Over time the Nuremburg Race Laws grew, they eventually restricted Jews form owning a business and seperated them from the rest of the country. They were forced to attend Jewish schools. These actions are very similar to the Jim Crow Laws in the United States during the period of segregation. The race laws Hitler created expanded to include more people including mentally handicapped, physically disabled, and colored people.

In 1936 the summer olympics ventured to Berlin, Germany the center of Nazi Power. The race laws were put on hold during that two week period, almost to send the rest of the world that Nazi Germany is a great place that is equal for everyone. As the world ventured through Berlin all signs of racism and discrimination were taken down to hide the dark truth. They tried to portray themselves as a nice friend...

Today we look back at the holocaust as one of the most horrific acts commited by humans. One man's vision turned into a sorrow story of death for over 11 million innocent people. Everyone of those people were a son, a daughter, a wife, a husband, a mom, a dad of someone they truly loved. It is not physically possible to put the true emotion of this time period into words. We are obligated as members of society to never let an event like this occur again. High ranking members of the Nazi party were tried and convicted of the war crimes they commmited during this time.
