The goal is to find how much carbohydrates patient can eat without weight gain. • Lifestyle Maintenance: regular foods and moderate carbohydrates intake. The patient can go back to previous phases if gain weight. Foods that are allowed in the induction phase includes fowl, fish, chicken, turkey, shellfish, meat, eggs, 3 to 4 ounces of cheese, vegetables, herbs and spices, oils and fats, and beverages that have no added sugar. For breakfast in phase one patient could have eggs prepared however she like them. For lunch, the patient could eat a Caesar salad with grilled chicken. For dinner, the patient could eat lean meat or steak with steamed or roasted non-starchy vegetables and a salad dressing with olive oil, lemon juice, and cheese.
