Children are supposed to enjoy their time as kids doing fun activities, playing around, going to school, consequently, when child labor is in effect that all changes. Now the fun activities that a child used to like to do is gone and replaced with labor that is hard and can sometimes be dangerous. The average working hours for a child in most places where child labor is relevant is 14 hours a day. The average wage a child receives is an average of around $4.25 an hour. Children who do work, mostly work in catastrophic health conditions and very little to no safety policies. When someone thinks of a child’s lifestyle they would probably think of the children having fun and playing with toys, but in some places around the world, this is not the …show more content…

They are paid, as well as receive time off just like adults do. They even have a set amount of hours that they are required to work, as well. Labor is also just getting kids prepared for adulthood in the real world that is coming for them later on in their lives. According to source 2, the author states, “Children, often without recourse, rarely complain, and often do not even realize that they have rights regarding their employment terms and compensation.” This clearly shows that the owners of the businesses where children work, are aware that this is an amazing reason as to why using children are a good source of income due to paying them less money. This is clearly the wrong way to look at it. Just to earn a few dollars a day, children are missing out on their childhood. According to source 2, as well, “Child laborers work illegally long hours, earn paltry wages—if they are fortunate enough to be paid for their labor—and work under horrendous conditions unimaginable to most people.” this proves the other side wrong, since the laborers are just children they should not be working in the first place, let alone having long hours with horribly working conditions.
