There is no doubt that the field of medicine is arguably one of the most important fields that exists. The greatest thing about medicine is that it grants people the opportunity to have longer more comfortable lives. Although medicine has this powerful effect, there are certain factors that hinder this practice of medicine to be exercised everywhere at its fullest potential. In the case of my grandfather, he has been prevented from being able to enjoy life the way that elderly people should be able to; this being, in a peaceful and relaxing manner. As I progressed through life, I would always wonder what the culprit was behind this brain eating disease is and could I do anything to help find a solution. One of the most unfortunate aspects of medicine is the fact that healthcare is not free. Liberia, Africa, Yemen, and Afghanistan are amongst the poorest countries in the world. Whether it is because of the country lacking healthcare professionals and facilities, not enough money, or corrupt incompetent governments, there are too many barriers to healthcare for certain populations of people. What about America? The minorities here sometimes suffer similar conditions for a myriad number of reasons redirected toward the government. In countries that are unable to afford basic healthcare, they are also discouraged to and or are unable to work jobs because of the set up of their environment, whether it be a result of warfare, natural disasters, or a lack of sufficient maintenance and upkeep. As it pertains to socioeconomic upbringing, some people have been forced to live hard impoverished lives due to how they had to live growing up. The availability of jobs and living circumstances negatively contribute to their ability to thrive. Healthcare is one of the first things required and requested, but one of the last things that some of the people that people in this category can afford. One of the major effects of some people’s inability to access healthcare is the lack of education. The value of education matters most when referring to a physician. In some instances, certain physicians may not possess enough knowledge to perform their job efficiently enough. On the other hand, citizens may also lack knowledge of what proper healthcare practice consists of. In resolving this problem, I would start a committee at my school to raise money to go toward healthcare treatments to send toward the impoverished communities to receive healthcare treatment for various illnesses and
