During high school career, students may begin to question the importance of a college education. They might find themselves asking, “Why is it important to go to college?” The answer is that, more than ever, attending college provides opportunities for graduates which are not as widespread to those who have not received a higher education. Education plays an important role in our lives. There is rapidly growing demand for higher education today. Although higher education is difficult, the rewards of self-improvement, job insurance, a development of character and social improvements are what is going to satisfy you. Today's college education develops these abilities, providing individuals with invaluable business and personal skills and knowledge, as well as opening the door to better career opportunities and increased earning power. But there are people in the world right now that cannot afford to go to college. They might have a brilliant mind that could help or have ideas to support the nation. But college could not be totally free. It’s a good thing that there are scholarships for those who can’t afford. In this case, I disagree for college education to be free. However, if it were free it would literally high school all over again. We have to remember that college is for those people that truly care for their education. Unlike high school, college is an option that one can decide to take or leave behind and for those who really want to educate themselves. Further, they go into it and its worth every penny for them. I have to admit that although college is quite expensive and that I might have a hard time affording it, it would be worth much more knowing that the majority of students around me care for their education unlike in high school.
