The three types of teams that have been set up in Acme Minerals Extraction Company are cross-functional teams, project teams and employee teams. To begin with cross-functional teams, it is composed of member or component from different area of work responsibility. It brings together members from different functional department (Henry, M. (2009). management. (4 ed., p. 286)). For example in the case study, it is stated that Howard and Peterson initial plan was to obtain a group of people from different department to talk to each other and share thoughts. So, when they are working as one, cross-functional group will eventually be formed.
Secondly we discuss about project team. Project teams simply means organize for a particular or specific task and disband it once it is accomplished (Henry, M. (2009). management. (4 ed., p. 286)). In Acme Minerals Extraction Company, Howard and Peterson introduced to the team a new way out called SPITS shorts for “select a problem and implement a tailored solution” which created to acknowledge problems throughout chat meeting. Organizing labor force into project team allows us to work in a way that is specific, measureable and time constrained. By grouping workers into project teams, they are able to see clearly the roles, responsibility and deadlines.
Thirdly, the team created in Acme Minerals Extraction Company is employee involvement teams. These are group of workers who meet up out of their regular basis with their objective to relax and clear their mind. This will give a high-quality impact since the workers able to contribute to consistent progression and the continuing achievement of their work group (Henry, M. (2009). management. (4 ed., p. 429)). ...ady knew their capabilities. As a good leader, Suzanne Howard should treat them fairly with respect and without bias. A good leader always treats their employee equally and fairly. This again makes the employee feel like living as one family. When the connection and network are strong, the worker will motivate themselves to be a better person and always look forward into success.
Last but not least, a leader should ask about questions, problems and concerns. This is a means of gathering vital information to stop problem situations. A leader should find time to ask about their employee’s problem they face. This will somehow comfort the employee who is having problems or difficulties in life. Even though this might seems normal to certain people but it is actually means a lot to some people. Employee will clear their mind and will be able to focus more on their work.
