I used to think everyone was happy and lived a wonderful life but there are several problems in health care that most people would never think about. I thought once someone was put in a nursing home that they would be taken care of and the family members would not have to stress about caring for their loved ones. However, this is not always the case because there are always going to be workers who do not enjoy their job and slack off on their tasks. When I arrived at the nursing home some of the workers would be sitting there wasting their time and simply hand you a list of things they needed done. I would begin changing the dirty briefs of the patients and they would have fecal matter left on their bottoms even though they had only urinated. Some patients are unable to get out of bed by themselves but nobody would go help them and they began to grow decubitus ulcers. There are so many other problems with health care that it would take me all day to explain them. My life has changed since I became a CNA not only in bad ways but in good ways. Once I worked as a CNA it showed me how much I enjoy assisting others and now has inspired me to continue my education to become a nurse. Although this was not my first job it was the first job that allowed me to discover what I want to do with my life. While working with the patients they tell you inspiring stories of their past, which makes working with them so enjoyable.
