After the 1970’s the world experienced a turning point in history, it was the spread of an integration of cultures around the globe; known as globalization. Along with globalization, a new globalized world economy came into existence. This was especially true after the fall of the second bloc. Globalization along with a global economy led to many improvements around the globe including better education, greater importance on health, longer life expectancy, and greater awareness for the care for the environment in agricultural and industrial practices. However, none of this would have been imaginale if it was not for the aid of evolving communication technologies in globalization and the world economy. One of which is the diffusion of globalizing entertainment. For example, communications technologies such as the TV helped spread American comedies and dramas worldwide, making them part of global culture over time; as more and more people everywhere in the world began having access and watching these films. The same was true for other forms of entertainment around the world that spread through television, most notably it was soccer. By the 1980’s soccer had become the world's sport as it was spread via television and people from all around the world excitedly watched the world cup. Therefore, it could be said that communication technologies such as the television spread entertainment and sports that became part of a global culture. Moreover, communication technologies have changed how one is informed of what's going on around the world. This is because with technologies such as the internet and TV, the global culture of reading the newspaper has decreased, and has been interchanged with the culture of seeing the news through TV or online. This influences globalization, as most people around the world share this way of being informed more than ever before. Additionally, communication technologies such as the internet influenced the spread of globalizing music. This was especially true after the invention of the iphone in 2007 as it was widespread throughout the world, also due to communications technologies which allowed Apple to function globally, giving the people easy access to the same styles of music anywhere in the world. Therefore, music became a global culture as people around the world eventually listened to fewer similar styles of music, causing globalization.
