125,000 A Day 45,000,000 a year, 3,750,000 a month, 870,000 per week, and 125,000 a day. That's how many lives are stopped before they even get to see the light, meet their family, or get a chance to live. I believe that every baby should get the chance to live, instead of cutting their life when it’s barely even started. Think of your favorite hobby. It’s something you do as much as you can and something you thoroughly enjoy. You got the choice to choose your hobbies. The 125,000 babies aborted every day don’t ever get to make any choices outside of the womb, especially whether they get to live their life or not. When a women gets pregnant I don’t know how we thought it was just alright to pull it out with a clamp piece by piece. Some will say it doesn’t matter because it is just a ball of cells. But after about 2 weeks that baby has life. It was little eyes, little hands, it is a little life and no longer just a part of that woman's life. It has it’s own life now. It kicks when it wants to, eats when it wants to and sleeps when …show more content…
You wouldn’t be here and you couldn’t have done 1 thing to avoid that. But your parents gave you life and now you make your own choices. There’s only a few exceptions for getting abortions. If the baby threatens the mother's life there's exceptions. If a woman was raped there's exceptions. But for teen pregnancies I don’t think there should be many exceptions. If you were messing around having sex as a teenager without a condom or birth control I don’t think you should be able to kill a child for making a mistake. If you think you're responsible enough to have sex you should be responsible enough to take care of a child. There shouldn’t be an option for you to just get rid of it and everything goes away. I think that maybe if you were under 18 you could get one abortion because everyone makes mistakes. But you only get one. You can’t keep getting bailed out for making the same mistake over and over
Abortion has been one of the biggest controversies of all time. According to the Oxford dictionary, the term abortion can be defined as, the deliberate termination of human pregnancy, most often performed during the first 28 weeks of pregnancy. There are two different types of abortion; a spontaneous abortion, which is also known as a miscarriage, and an induced abortion, where the embryo or fetus is purposely removed from the women’s body. The topic of induced abortion has been widely debated for hundreds of years. The issue of abortion was argued way back in the time of the ancient Hebrews. Today many people consider abortion to be murder, but shouldn’t the soon-to-be mother 's right to make such a personal and heartbreaking choice be
In America abortion is one of the most heavily debated topics in recent years. Pro-life or pro-choice? Many people believe it is immoral and even consider abortion to be murder. The definition of abortion states “The termination of pregnancy by the removal or expulsion from the uterus of a fetus or embryo prior to being capable of normal growth” Did you know that 1 in 3 women in the U.S. will have an abortion in their lifetime? (Baker, Aspen. "A Better Way to Talk about Abortion." Aspen Baker:. N.p., n.d. Web. 25 Aug. 2016.) When first researching this topic I wondered, “What’s the big deal? Why would it matter if someone who was never even born, died?” And I realized that babies that would have been born due to abortion,
Many people who don’t know much about abortion don’t know how truly horrifying and serious it is. There are many small details about the baby that could change a woman’s mind in an instant on whether or not they think abortion is the way to go. Women usually don’t realize how it works or what exactly is happening to the baby. They usually think to themselves that it isn’t really a baby or a human form yet, but they are wrong. The baby has already developed fingers, eyelids, a brain, knees, and many other human features by just only seven weeks into the pregnancy (What your baby). Unborn developing babies are much more “human” tha...
Of the millions of pregnancies that happen every year, almost half of those pregnancies are aborted. What some people do not know is that abortion is murder; the life of an innocent, unborn baby is being ended because the mother does not want that child. Many people say that the baby is unaware of what is going and they do not feel anything; when really, a baby can feel pain just days after conception. A baby is a baby; it still has arms, legs, and a functioning brain just like the rest of us do. So why are these babies getting murdered? Life begins immediately after conception; Abortion is wrong because it is murder, a “quick getaway” and it is a cheaper way for irresponsible women to not have to take care of someone. There are other options that do not involve murder.
The baby in the womb can feel pain around 16 weeks into the pregnancy. To begin, a woman can “ have a surgical abortion...up to 22 weeks” (...). By this time the baby can already feel pain, and has a heartbeat at 5 weeks, the baby is a human once the egg connects to the sperm. The baby is not just a simple organism anymore, the baby has a heartbeat and is practicing breathing. Abortion is the same as murder, just because the child can stop it or have anything to say about it doesn 't change what it is. Just because the baby cannot live on it’s own does not mean the baby is not living. The baby may not be able to function on its own, but it is already developing. For instance, at three months the baby’s “unique fingerprints are now in place” (...). The baby is developing bone structure and even fingerprints. The baby is quickly developing a self identity, the baby is a growing human being just like us. There are other options for the mother if she cannot take care of the child. For instance, in the united states alone “Infertility affects approximately 6.7 million women in the United States” (...). If every baby that was aborted was given up for adoption instead, a woman could have a child to care for and love unconditionally. This way the baby at least gets a chance to live its life rather than having it taken so early. It is illegal
...ct potential life at conception, and because of this there is absolutely no way I could ever be in favor of abortion. Abortion is murder, the only exception I can think of would be if the mother’s life was at risk, but besides that, I don’t see how allowing abortion is enhancing women’s rights. Citizens are supposed to be protected by the state, so why are these unborn children being deprived of this protection? According to the website lifenews.com 1.2 million babies dies every year from abortion. These statistics left me in shock and feeling very upset about the current state of affairs. I’m tired of hearing all these argument that try to justify abortion, to me, none of them are valid. I think people should really consider looking deeper into this topic, if they did perhaps they would come to realize that abortion is an inhumane procedure that should be illegal.
At the very end of the day, no one likes abortion or death, but it’s wrong for a woman to carry a child that she doesn’t want. I would prefer for a child to not be here, if a child will grow up being neglected, abused and lacking affection. In some cases, abortion is certainly justified. If a child is conceived because of rape, then that’s understandable. What if God decided to take children away, in general? How would you feel then? Can you imagine a world with only adults and senior citizens? It’s an honor and privilege to have a child. It’s a beautiful process that creator gave every woman. There are many women who pray for the opportunity to become mothers, whereas many women throw it away.
All women deserve the right to choose what to do with their bodies. If abortion is to be made illegal, that decision will be stripping women of rights to do what they want with their own bodies. Until recently, women have had the right to do as they pleased with their own bodies, but in today’s society, these rights are being threatened. In her article “Abortion: Every Woman’s Right”, Sharon Smith, a well-renowned writer, advocates: “For more than a decade, the right to abortion has been steadily eroded, so that now the debate is over who should be able to pre-empt a woman's choice to terminate an unwanted pregnancy, laws now exist which allow parents, husbands or state governments to prevent pregnant women from having abortions.” In short, she states that over time, the issue of abortion has slowly been worn down to the state it is currently in, where government men and husbands are the ones who are making the executive decision of whether or not a woman should be allowed to have an abortion. Anti-abortion supporters may want to question if the woman who is carrying the fetus really has the right to terminate its life. They propose the argument by insisting that since the fetus will develop into a different body than the mother, having an abortion would not be a woman’s right, but instead would be the fetus’ right. This argument is one that I would not agree with because by f...
A fetus deserves the right to live. “It is a war on the defenseless—and the voiceless. It is a war on the unborn”(p.365). Many may argue that a fetus is not a human, but that is where all human life begins. Religion plays a large role on people’s views on abortion. Many religions think of abortion as the killing of another human. People think of when life begins based on religion, some believing in spiritual life before birth. All life begins at conception. “In the biological sciences, it is known that life begins when two germ cells unite to become one cell, bringing together twenty-three chromosomes from both the father and from the mother(p.367). Fetus’s can’t speak for themselves so others must speak for them. Each one is a potential child that doesn’t even get a chance to live. Pregnancy and life begin at conception, so abortion is murder. The killing of another human and taking away their right to life will always be considered unethical. Abortion will always be considered a crime. It’s the harming of innocent humans that are unable to defend
Everyone of you hearing this, whether I’m reading it to you or you are reading it yourself need to understand that you need to thank god your mothers wanted you. We are blessed by each person on this Earth, including you. Justin Bieber, Celine Dion, Pope John Paul II, even Steve Jobs were almost victims of abortion. Could we imagine a world without the technological advances discovered by Jobs? No matter what your point of view is, whether Pro Choice or Pro Life, the fact alone that your mother did not think you were “inconvienient” or “a financial leech” should be enough to make you Pro Life. Of course it isn’t always this simple, but no matter what, you’re here. Count yourself lucky that you were given the right to life. Now, why is it just that you get to breathe the same air as I, yet millions of abortions are occuring each year? Let me rephrase that. Why is it that you live and say you are Pro Choice when there are milliions of babies, innocent lives killed each year? No matter how many times you say it isn’t viable therefore it doesn’t have a right to life doesn’t change that it is indeed a life. Someone (Pro Choice obviously) brought up to me the point that bacteria is life. Why do we get to use
In conclusion, women have the right to have abortions and to not have abortions. They have the right because it’s their body and it’s unfair to deny any woman that right without knowing the circumstances or situation. At the end of the women have to do what’s best for them and that unborn child and if they don’t have the necessary tools and lifestyle for them and the baby. Advocates of abortion believe that abortion is seriously wrong but it’s the women’s the decision not theirs, they have the right.
Thus, it is obvious that abortion should be banned and made illegal. Murder is a capital offense, so why should abortion, which is even worse, remain legal? Some people that are murdered deserve it, while many others who were killed lived immoral or corrupt lives. Why is it that an innocent child who has done nothing wrong should be denied the opportunity to live? Had Bill Gates been aborted, we may not have PC’s around the world. Had he been denied the right to live, the world may have been denied the privilege of having a computer in houses around the globe in addition to having Microsoft. Perhaps somebody who may have made the world better was aborted. Who knows? The main point is that abortion is murder, and no human has the right to decide who lives or dies.
We cannot play God nor be so judgmental when others decide to make a choice that we do not sit comfortably with. They have to live their lives to the fullest and we must do the same. There are many cases where the woman was impregnated due to an assault, and decided to get rid of the child because it brings them so much hurt and pain knowing that this child that has been conceived was unintentional and would bring negative thoughts, behaviors and plenty of aggression to that child later in life. Some decide to keep the child but those that aborted them see that there is still hope for the future even if they do not have this baby at that moment. Some argue that the baby is not really a baby until after twenty-six weeks. The positive out looks of an abortion does not put weight the negative aspects of an abortion. But this does not give us the right to determine someone 's fate or future based off of their choice to abort a child. Many women become rape victims and must then choose to have the child or not and when that person decides to abort the world forgets her damage and begins to condemn. A woman has the choice to be as free as a bird with no cage. This is being described as having freedom to do whatever she wants and achieve her own goals while not living in anyone 's shadow. She could have the abortion but it should not be forced, or she
On any normal given day if you were to kill another human being you would be greatly punished for your crimes, if not put to death because of your actions. So, what is it that makes the unborn babies less important than anyone else. If anything we should go above and beyond to make sure these babies are taking care of properly because they are unable to help themselves at all, and when the mother does not want the baby who is left to fight for the baby’s life. Even if the pregnancy was unwanted, unplanned, to early, or just a mistake there is still a baby’s life on the line when you begin to talk about abortion. Others might fight for the right to terminate the pregnancy before the baby has a heartbeat, but even if there is no heartbeat yet there will be and we do not have the right to take that away. The last argument on the opposing side I would like to talk about is the assumption that abortion is safer than child birth. Many articles and studies have shown that abortions are not dangerous to the mother. Linda Lowen’s article states “the vast majority of women- 88% who have an abortion do so in the first trimester and medical abortions have less than 0.5% risk of serious complications.” (Linda Lowen pg. 2) So `many women will use this as an excuse or reasoning for terminating the pregnancy. In my opinion many advancements in
“In Twenty-first Century America, there are two classes of human beings, one protected by constitutional law and the other not. Human beings fully protected by constitutional law are those individuals who have already been born, and are recognized in law as persons. The second group consists of the unborn, which can be defined as the unborn human being from the time of its creation, in or outside of the human body and encompasses all forms of its existence, growth, and development, including zygote, pre-embryo, embryo, and fetus. The law does not recognize these “humans” as persons. Judicial fiat institutionalizes this status of being “separate and unequal.” An unborn human being is doomed unless it is wanted and chosen by its mother to be born alive” (Lugosi 226). Besides a few circumstances, most abortions are morally wrong because they are equivalent to murder, deny the right to life, and brutal.
