There are a lot of excellent colleges around the world, and all they were meant for giving preparation to everyone who wants to become in a professional. I had a college experience almost 10 years ago; I got a Cuban college degree in Special Education. Being a college student was a very nice and demanded experience in my life. Now I am taking college classes again. The experience is different because I got older, but it still being great. If I would have to say which one of these colleges is better, I could not give an exact answer. However, there is something that I can strongly affirm; going to college in the U.S is quite different from going to college in Cuba.
The first difference between going to college in the U.S and going to college in Cuba is how classes are organized. In the U.S colleges, classes are divided by periods of about four month each one. These periods are called semesters, and each semester has its own name such as Fall, Spring, or Summer. In addition, students have the option of picking which and how many classes they want to take during each semester, and they can even pick their schedule. Classes have a duration time of fifty minutes with ten minutes of break between them. Also, the classes have predetermined classrooms. Students have to go to the classroom which corresponds to the class they have to take. In contrast to classes in U.S colleges, classes in Cuba colleges are organized in a different way. In Cuba college classes are divided by periods of nine months which are named as First Year, Second Year, and so on. The Cuban college students do not have the opportunity of picking their classes. There is a study plan, which is equal for all students. Like in the U.S, there are in Cuba’s college classes te...

...Something very different happens among Cuban college students. They have the same classmates for each class and throughout five years of studies. That means that a student are seeing and sharing experiences with the same people for so long, so each one of these people are more than his or her classmates; everybody is like a big family. Whereas students in the U.S have lot of electronic devisers, students in Cuba do not have anyone. Therefore, their only option during their breaks is talking with a classmate about something. In projects or activities that require working in team, communicating thru Internet is not an alternative. The only alternative in these cases is met at some place which is usually a classmate’s home. Sometime these reunions are not effective academically, but they always are effective in being the relationship among students each time closer.
These 3 colleges are amazing but there is one that matches with my ideal college the best, the University of Michigan. The University of Michigan compares very well next to my ideal college. It has a great pre-med program, it is the cheapest of all of the three, has great sports, and offers many financial aid programs. The University has a large campus and a medium size student body. There is no religious orientation and it has the highest rate of admission. This is why the University of Michigan is the perfect match to my ideal
Facing something that we want to judge, we can not only find its disadvantages, then ignore its advantages and values, and that’s the same for colleges. As a matter of fact, we need to face everything with fair judgements rather than prejudices. Community college or two-years college is good for us to choose; don’t let the prejudices influence our
Education, according to Dictionnary.com is “the process of receiving or giving systematic instruction, especially at a school or university”. However, education is taught differently everywhere. The educational system of each country is created based on their own cultures, traditions, and historical background. Each county, perhaps, have their own way to teach and manage their educational systems. Unlike some countries. “The US has most diversified education system in the world, with public and private schools at all levels flourishing alongside each other” (Hampshire, 2006) Even though the U.S. display some similarities such as a diverse population of students in classes and a great emphasize on education and education and academic success, they however differ dramatically in teaching methods, student aids, teacher evaluation system, and resources. Though not so far apart on the map, the education system in Haiti and the educational system in the United states are extremely opposite when it comes to organization, technology, and finance.
The exodus of the majority of skilled workers brought about a rapid change in the methods employed in educating Cuba’s population. If the revolution was to be successful, Cuba needed to replace the skilled workers that left with other skilled workers in the shortest amount of time possible. In 1961, the revolutionary government developed a nationwide campaign to rid Cuba of illiteracy. The program was given slogans like “ The people should teach the people and If you don’t know learn; if you know teach”. This program consisted of volunteer teachers who would help illiterate Cubans increase their education by teaching them the fundamentals. According to Fitzgerald, “(The literacy campaign) helped to integrate town and county and to galvanize support for revolutionary goals by bringing urban and rural populations into direct contact. ( p. 41)” Also, according to Fitzgerald, “ Enrollment in adult education rose dramatically from 66,577 students in the 1960-1961 school year to a peak of 842,024 students in the 1964-1965 school year, but plummeted to 309,717 students in 1969-1970. (P. 42)” This program benefited the poorer citizens of Cuba who remained in Cuba. They w...
The culture in Cuba is diversified by the lingua franca, religions, ethnicity, globalization, conflicts, and many more things. People in 1791 spoke french during the haitian revolution, but that has since died out as well as the languages the indigenous people spoke. Most all cubans now speak only spanish. During the neocolonial republic,
Havana is one of the most architecturally diverse cities. In the beginning of the 20th century, Havana was an international influential powerhouse, enriched with art nouveau, art deco and eclectic design. This boom period was the turn in Cuba’s economical continuous changes throughout the times of change.
When it comes down to choosing a college or a university to attend, the decision may be hard to make. Students often compare differences and similarities in their college experience between small and big schools when it comes to looking more into the learning environment, housing opportunities, and the entertainment provided.

There are a lot of differences between high school and college. Some of the differences are the education, the professors, and the students. This essay will explain the difference between high school and college.
When it comes to the economy, employees in Cuba get paid very slight. It does not matter if you are a doctor, an engineer, or teacher, the wage is not enough for a luxury or adequate lifestyle. Recruits also get paid monthly, on the contrary, in Miami some workers can either get paid weekly or every other week. Moreover, in Miami you get paid more; the better your career is, for example, a doctor would get paid more than a police officer or a gardener. Students are more motivated to be successful in a place like Miami than in a place like
One main example would be the freedom students in college are given. Most of the time in high school the students still live with a parent or guardian. Then in a lot of instances the student leaves home after high school and begins college. Thus the student will not have 24 hour supervision by a parent. The will have to adapt to maintain their schoolwork, as well as keeping up a job. The students are given the freedom to choose how many classes they want to take. Also they will have the ability to choose when to take classes, so his or hers time management will be put in their own hands to control. Also students will be tasked with the responsibility of keeping track of one 's school workload. Unlike most high school teachers, college professors will not keep reminding you to turn in their assignments. Teachers also will not care if you miss a class, because they still expect you to turn in your assignments with no excuses.
At a high school, there are many things to offer such as auditoriums, lunch rooms, computer labs and science labs. Along with these things sports are offered too, among those sports are basketball, soccer, baseball, football and various running sports. While students benefit from these extracurricular activities there are rules to be obeyed such as the school dress code and cell phones are not permitted during school hours. While in college it is a little different, you get treated like an adult and you have a bit more freedom. College students take advantage of this freedom of roaming and exploring the campus. For example, college kids can freely take out their cellphone without it being taken up at any given point in the class. “In high school, your day is typically planned for you, including where and when your classes meet and what time you eat lunch. College gives you significantly more freedom in building your schedule and choosing how to spend your time” (Kori Morgan). Along with extensive freedom offered at the college level there are other things offered as well, like sports fields, theatres and concert halls most of those things are unheard of in high school. Whether college kids are in class they could easily be hitting the books hard in libraries or just relaxing in the campus café. The choices are endless in
College has way more people than high school so different groups will show up. In high school, people flock to the cool kids that have all new gadgets and expensive clothing and in college the kids are very poor and just want to save money, so they don’t mind what they wear. While in college, most people will wear whatever because they don 't care what other people think of them, while in high school, it 's all about doing whatever the most cool kids are doing. In both college and high school, you will make friends that you will have for life. In some cases, kids will find the group that fits them the best in high school instead of college and will stick with that group throughout college.
But one thing the certain individuals do not take into considerations, is the class size of the school. I believe the size is key. There are many pros and cons, when it comes time to buckling down to a specific school. Right major, closer to home, bandwagoning with friends, geographic features and size are common reasons why certain schools are chosen. I personally believe small universities are better, the smaller the greater. Yes, Large universities are nice and all, but when attending a small university one feels safe and one feels a lot closer to his/her companions. (O 'Brien, Claudia Moore, Sec. Introduction) Further on, you will read as to why smaller size schools are better than larger
