Gardiners’ “walk before you run” approach was an incredibly safe move in the industry of online sales. The benefit to this type of approach is that the employees are always aware of what is in stock and the availability to their customers. With this approach, there should never be an offering of an item that is non-existent in their catalog. There can unfortunately be a great potential risk if there are delayed updates to the Gardiners’ online system. A customer willing to pay top dollar for an expensive item they see online may be fooled to find out the item has already been sold.
