The campus recreation activity I took part in was a spinning group class which was held in the HTC center studio one on November 28th at 7:00pm to 8:00pm. The class was instructed by Professor Alan he teaches philosophy 101. The room was small with a disco ball on the ceiling and there were about 10 to 15 spinning bikes in the room. We did four different types of exercise on the bike. Sprints, Mountain climbs, Up/downs, and Cool downs which was towards the end of class.
Before we got started with the exercises we had to make sure the bike we were going to use was measured comfortably. So our legs can flow easy without being too tight when we paddle. Also, we had to tuck in our shoe laces so it would not get caught in the bike. Music was playing while we rode the bikes different songs for the different exercises. Some of the songs were longer than the others which meant longer time on the bike. The room was a bit dark but the disco ball was on and the lights made it fun. It was seven participants including myself. Danielle and Jeff attended the class as well.
Sprints were a bit tough that is when you go as fast as you can for about thirty seconds full blown sprints until Alan said stop. Mountain climbs were okay you could not sit down the whole time you paddled the bike. Up/downs was alright for the most part whenever he said up we had

It covers the dimensions of wellness. All of the seven dimensions of wellness will be used whenever someone does a group fitness class. The seven dimensions are emotional, intellectual, physical, social/cultural, spiritual, occupational, and environmental. Also, the art of assessment which at the beginning/end of the semester a campus recreation mass email will be sent out to all current Coastal Carolina students. Will have a link for them to go take a survey regarding questions about experiences during any activity involving campus
The seventh challenge is to develop a wellness program within the community. Action steps include:
Wellness provides the mind, body, feelings, and spiritual well-being individuals gain in their daily lifestyle. When most individuals in society hear the phrase wellness they assume it is referring to physical wellness. Which is true, but did society know that physical wellness is part of the seven wellnesses that are broken down into extension? Which are known for physical, emotional, intellectual, social, spiritual, environmental, and occupational wellnesses. These seven wellnesses help provide ways for individual to do daily and guide individuals to maintain a good health from inside and out.

The purpose of therapeutic recreation is to enable all individuals to achieve quality of life and optimal health through meaningful experiences in recreation and leisure. In this paper the definition of therapeutic recreation will be discussed as well as what should be included in the definition and what should be rejected. This definition will mainly focus on health and use the Health Promotion Model to further explain my choice to focus on health and well-being. I will also be discussing the importance of inclusion in therapeutic recreation for different learning styles in many environments, and the significance of diversity in the community and what we hope to achieve by being fully inclusive.
There are ten component areas that should be considered in organizing and structuring a well designed concepts based fitness course. These component areas are, student performance standards, instructional format, activity/ exercise program, personal portfolios with individual health and fitness plans, incentive program, exercise adherence and motivational strategies, school-family programs, and
Strategy: I contacted Jillian Michael to discuss how I want the activity to be done and whom it is for. I will inform her on my objective and goals for this activity and tell her the population of interest. We then will discuss the needs of the community regarding exercise and healthy eating and the best way to incorporate them in a college student’s life.
Physical, emotional, intellectual, interpersonal, spiritual, and environmental wellness are all considered the six dimensions of wellness with occupational wellness being the possible seventh. But what are these exactly? And how do they apply to me and my health and wellness?
In class, we have been focusing on the explanation of what Literacy III: Research and Pedagogy in Content Area Literacy actually means. Content Area Literacy is defined by as “the ability to use reading and writing for the acquisition of new content in a given discipline” (McKenna and Robinson 1990). Because of the explanation of the class, I feel as if I am learning about the background and deepening my knowledge and understanding of the class as a whole. Content Area Literacy gives each subject areas a reason to include reading strategies in those lessons. These subject areas include mathematics, science, history, and English (Hodges 2015). When you can include reading strategies in these lessons, you are expanding student’s horizons and giving them multiple exposures. I think that this is extremely beneficial in the all classrooms. As for the negatives on Content Area Literacy, it should be noted that teachers should not only focus on reading during the other subject areas. Teachers need to have a medial balance between the content area and the literacy strategies
Honestly, coming into this class, I had no idea what to expect. I have never been in a sports management class, and honestly don’t know much about sports with the exception of baseball. All I knew coming into this class is that it was online, which was a benefit to me as in I’m a better learner when I get to work at my own pace. However, when I read the syllabus and figured out that this class would be mainly writing proposals on different topics, it began to worry me. The last time I had written an essay was my senior year of high school, so I knew I’d have to bring out some of the old knowledge to be able to write a quality paper again. Even though writing papers is a dislike of mine, these proposals turned out to be a good experience

High school has been a very interesting experience for me. It has definitely had its highs and lows and many confusing experiences in between. Overall, I feel like I have been equipped for not only college, but also life as a whole. High school has taught me many things, both academically and emotionally. It has revealed and exposed my true colors, both good and bad, and as a result, has built many aspects of my character. My experiences at Alameda High school and Alameda Community Learning Center have shaped me into the person that I am today.
The study of leisure and recreation exist to improve the quality of people’s lives. Leisure is a key part of our lives. When we involve ourselves in leisure activities that satisfies us. During the semester, I learned a lot on how to deal with psychological distress and how as an athletic trainer I should deal with athletes to overcome their situation and be there for them. Throughout my time as an athletic training student, I always liked to observe my preceptors on how they deal with athletics that are having psychological distress after injuries, and how as an athletic trainer I should handle these situations in a professional manner. There is one situation in particular that occurred during the King’s College football season that I would like to discuss.
Outdoor recreation is something that everyone needs. Finding that place within yourself that allows you to forget about everything. Whether that be playing with your kids in the nearby park, fishing with your grandfather, hiking with someone or just by yourself you learn something new about yourself. Some people use recreation to forget about something and they use being outside as a calming effect. Williams and Stewart (1998) believe that nature, as a place, creates an emotion bond, has a complex meaning to the person, and that people have this draw back to the place. To get the same feeling that someone would get while doing an activity in nature to simulate Williams and Stewart’s (1998) belief, I recently participated in an
