Their hands arose as the Führer passed by. Chants grew louder and louder; “Heil Hitler! Heil Hitler.” This was their leader, a man who the children looked up to, and the reason why Germans were able to return to work. Hitler, a leader who was praised in his time era, however, today is seen as the reason behind the holocaust, a unique event in history. Adolf Hitler who served as a dictator from 1934 to 1945 said: “If you tell a big enough lie and tell it frequently enough, it will be believed.” (GoodReads) Hitler told lies, yet his biggest one was saying the Jews were an inferior race. Hitler withheld the ability to brainwash millions of Germans and he did so with words. Hitler knew that words possessed the capacity to immensely impact how an individual feels. In knowing that, the Führer executed Jews and created a unique but drastic event in world history, the holocaust. Francis of Assisi an Italian Catholic friar and preacher once said: “If you have men who will exclude any of God 's creatures from the shelter of compassion and pity, you will have men who will deal likewise with their fellow men.” (LongShaw). Jews, homosexuals, criminals and cripples all excluded by Hitler. The Führer wanted to create a community where these sets of people were close to extinct. However, the uniqueness of the holocaust allows it to differ from any other genocide. The holocaust was an instituted murder, Hitler did not go out and cause a mass murder. Hitler and his group would plan their attacks, to ensure they killed as many people as possible. Even though Hitler had his Nazis, he would train young children from ages 6-10 and eventually hope they became Nazis. Over the course of a person’s lifetime they will inevitable meet people that inspire and challenge them. In the end, it the choice falls to the individual, whether they look at their relationships and choose to inspire or challenge the other individuals. It is up to the person, to choose if they will live a fulfilling life, or choose a life filled of hatred. Adolf Hitler chose a life where he was seen as a Führer. However, he lived his life in the perspective of fulfilling his best interest. Hitler gave into greed, and hate, to create a unique but drastic event in the holocaust. His main goal was to exclude all those not in his vision, which is too common in today’s world.
