Everyone in some point of their lives are told that they need to go to college to get a good career so that they can provide for themselves and if they don’t, they won’t get far in life. Why is going to college so important? I believe the entire point of college in the first place is yes, to be able to learn the skills required for a specific career, but it is also to show people skills that they will use outside of those classes in the everyday world, as well as achieving intellectual growth. A lot of young adults are told to start thinking of a career at a very young age. Kids want to grow up to become something. That may be the same career as their parents, or it may be something they saw on TV such as a firefighter, or an astronaut. As they get older, they find out their passions and what they are good at. Once they enter high school, they begin to really learn new skills that they can take on to whatever career path they will choose. If someone can’t write in a professional manner, it doesn’t matter how good they may be for a job, if they can’t write professionally, they will seem unqualified.
