George Wepson and his wife founded Galaxy toy in 1956. It has its headquarters in Toledo, Ohio. The company operates in the toy world and concentrate in space related toys. The company has grown to be one of the largest private toy companies in the United States and has factories in Alabama, Huntsville, Florida, White Plains and Daytona. Galaxy toys have expanded into Mexico and are located in Juarez. The company is characterized by a flat organizational structure. The structure reduces the chain of command and increases decision-making process. Galaxy toys are planning its future and have identified long-term goals and plan to produce a product that is in line with its goals and objectives. It has decided to incorporate technology in its production so as to have a competitive advantage over its competitors. The project of choice should be able to reduce costs and increases unrelated NASA sales.
