Social psychology helps us understand human behaviour. It helps us understand and define one’s action and reaction to situations in a social environment (Myers & Twenge, 2013). My factual learning from the Bobo Doll experiment (Bandura, Ross & Ross, 1961) and the Zimbardo-Stanford Prison (Zimbardo, 1973) experiments support that children and individual behave in a certain way depending on the environment (Bandura, 1977) and supports the findings that when children witness a certain behaviour they will repeat the behaviour (Machlowitz, 1980). Individuals react differently to different situations and it all depends on their behaviours and habits (Andersen & Chen, 2002). If an individual is not in the habit of receiving constructive criticism they will always react negatively towards it despite the fact that it was meant with good intentions (Andersen & Chen, 2002). I learnt that individuals that show internal attributes could be due to their behaviour and this could be the result of their “personal characteristics, such as their abilities, traits, mood or effort.” (Laureate, 2014, P.3). Those individuals who show external attributes could be due to the situation, the environment, or the impact of other people on their actions (Heider, 1958). In Social …show more content…
