Recommended: Problem of single parenting

One of the most common problems in the last few decades has been the absence of fathers in children’s lives, causing there to be a rising number of families that are strictly lead by single mothers. The role of the father is a total necessity for children because it creates balance within the home and in the child’s life. An active fatherhood or father figure role not only reduces the frequency of behavioral problems in boys and psychological problems in girls, but it also adds a positive effect on cognitive development, along with decreasing delinquency and economic disadvantage in low income families. According to the 2006 Census, twenty three percent of children under eighteen years old do not live with their biological father and the number is climbing.
Single mothers described how stressful having a child is for them and how much slack they have to pick up because of missing fathers inside the home. Some mothers have thoughts that they are not good enough or cannot handle different situations very well by themselves. This bond sets a daughter ideal for her future partners like friends and spouse. A father figure in young girls’ life can reduce the risks of psychological problems. Females get their mannerism and masculine traits from of course their fathers. Females cycle back and forth between pushing their father away and loving their mother. There is a certain type of love that females get from their father that mothers cannot demonstrate. Females develop their sense of self-worth and self-esteem based largely on attention and love from their father.
