Before building any structure, it is very important to make sure that you have laid the proper groundwork. It creates stability, longevity, and allows the building process to confidently proceed efficiently and effectively. I find this development process, seeing a project through from start to finish, is very fulfilling. There is something about experiencing a finished product that is rewarding which is the reason pursuing a Master’s Degree in Strategic Leadership & Design is a perfect fit for where I am advancing my career.
While this program is an entirely new structure for me, I have a very strong foundation. After graduating from one of the top business schools in the country - Indiana University Kelley School of Business - eleven years ago, I embarked on my professional career feeling empowered, excited, and most of all prepared based on my collegiate experience. I was able to secure full time employment prior to graduation and went on to work in the public accounting field. As a result of taking advantage of other opportunities as they presented themselves, I diversified my career by taking on various roles at: a relatively young public corporation; a smaller well established accounting firm; a growing start-up business; and a mid-sized private company. Even though each advancement of my career was seemingly unrelated, a recurring theme in each position was interpersonal relationships and communications (I was almost always in a team based environment). In addition, each successive role put me in place to acquire more leadership experience. My assorted roles and responsibilities will bring real world experience of various industries, companies (large & small), and roles to the program.

...f my community serviced based sorority. In addition, as I plan to enter the project management field, I intend to join a professional project management association to stay abreast of new industry related information. As my list of associates continually grows, the biggest contribution I can provide after the completion of the program is connections with people with valuable resources and ideas. These connections can aid in marketing and recruitment efforts or charitable and special events.
I am certain that pursuing the Master’s of Strategic Leadership and Design would be a mutually beneficial arrangement for me and the program. I will be taking a huge step toward the next level of my career at a top tier university in Indiana and the program will be able to take advantage of the contributions that a well-rounded, experienced, and dedicated student can provide.
Majored in accounting during my undergraduate at Michigan State University, I am determined to be an audit professional at a public accounting firm in Toronto upon graduation from MMPA program. To better qualify myself and equip myself with advanced accounting knowledge, I am dedicated to obtaining the CPA designation as well. In the next three to five years, I see myself being promoted from an associate to a manager who will lead a team and direct a project. Working as a manager in a public accounting firm will definitely sharpen my leadership ability and problem-solving skills, which are prerequisites for my long-term career objective. Ten years down the road, I want to work in the finance department of a public company as CFO or controller,
The purpose of Alpha Kappa Alpha is to promote sisterhood in colleges to assure a bond between college women, and the sorority leads by being an example for other college women to follow. Alpha Kappa Alpha also promotes higher education and positive self-esteem to younger women. Alpha Kappa Alpha also gives back to the community in community service that could range from educating our women on relevant topics to just lending a hand in the community. I want to contribute to this purpose at Mississippi State University and back in my hometown.
My purpose in applying for a Master's Degree in Organizational Leadership is to advance my academic career through the qualities and the values of Jesuit teachings and to expand my ability to become an effective leader. Also, to build a network, improve my networking skills, and grow with new leadership development. Coming into this major I had no idea what to expect and the same went for this course, but I did know that it dealt with leadership, something that I have been steeped in for a good part of my life. So with that, it was hard to really set any goals as to what I would want to improve in with my leadership style but I was able to pin point a few aspects that could use some work through learning about different leadership techniques and methods. By learning about how leaders are formed, different approaches to leading groups and various aspects effecting group dynamics, I could determine an individuals or my own strengths in leadership and the methods necessary to effectively lead various types of groups. Also by observing many others in facilitating the after school program it gave me much more of an opportunity to see what works and what does not, this is an opportunity very few leaders get without being thrust into a role that they are ill prepared for.
Over this course of this semester, I have learned a tremendous amount of information about myself from the self-exploration series. The results of my PGI (Personal Globe Inventory) presented me with a couple of different career paths to explore. The first type of career that was brought up to my attention was an enterprising career. There were a number of enterprising careers, but the one that interested me the most was business management. I decided to choose the business management because I am majoring in Sustainability and my focus is in Economics. I think business management would be an excellent fit for myself because I have actually done some research prior to this class about management. I would like to someday own an ice rink, and I think that becoming a manager would be a great stepping-stone towards reaching my goal. The requirements for becoming a business manager vary from university to university, but the overall direction of the major revo...
The immersion in the professional world that Kemper Scholars experience would contribute considerably to me achieving my personal goals. The program would connect my history and business studies with real world application by demonstrating how to practice those skills in the management and operations of organizations. One of my goals is to foster my self-confidence by speaking without hesitation and to become daring in unfamiliar environments. The opportunity would grow my fearlessness through the foreign environments I would be expected to work in – provoking me to challenge my insecurities and build upon my confidence. A career aspect of my goals is to ignite social change and innovate nonprofits by becoming a twenty-first century leader

As part of the graduation requirements, I took many credits of education courses such as Physiology, Teaching and Learning Techniques. Right after I graduated,

I have applied to Pittsburgh Theological Seminary for a Master of Divinity because of my desire to grow into a more mature spiritual leader at home, in the church, and within my calling into sports ministry. My previous educational experience comes from Geneva College in the MSOL Program. My time in that program was the best time of learning I have had in my adult life, the challenges academically, the theological incorporation into leadership and the ability to be myself in the learning environment are cause for me to continue my education in a different direction. Personally, I believe my transfer from Geneva to PTS will enable me to better live out my calling in a specific way through sports ministry and a gaining of a deeper theological understanding to minister to individuals while writing programs that help other leaders “lead well.”
I have accomplished a lot in a short period; however, my journey is not complete until I continue my education. Essentially, this degree will help foster my growth and career success. My passion and dedication will speak for itself. My hard work and determination will prevail and I am a fit more than the next applicant because I have the passion, experience, critical thinking and analytical skills needed to complete this program through successfully arguing my capstone in front of a board or committee. My goals are definitely aligned with this program and I hope my next read is an acceptance letter from the admissions council.
...or express where I helped in organizing store displays and merchandise placement. During my time their I won two awards, one for Ability to Recommend showing my selling expertise and an award for tripling the amount of customers taking part in the Express Loyalty program. My time at Express showed me the process of a product lifecycle, current trends and marketing strategies. To sum up what I can bring to this program is my vast experience in not only the fashion industry but the event coordinating business. I take my education very seriously, but while at Philadelphia University I would be interested in help planning fashion shows and events, take part in outside research and give back to the school anyway I can. I can aid in the M.S. Global Fashion Enterprise program if given this chance. To conclude, I feel I am the right person for Philadelphia University.
First, I will express my personal mastery journey with my work life. I just recently graduated from the University of Indianapolis with my undergraduate degree in accounting. I graduated with a high GPA while participating in collegiate baseball, which I believe will help set me apart from others when beginning my career. That being said, I also believe that I have a lot of learning to do in order to be successful in my early career. I feel that I did not learn as much as I should have about accounting and I will need to dedicate a significant amount of time relearning and learning to have success in the accounting field. My vision for my career is to be a partner at a mid-level accounting firm in my early to mid 30’s. I aspire to be at a company that challenges me and allows me to progress and meet my goals. I would prefer a mid-level accounting firm because it would allow a better work life balance due to less hours. In order for me to bridge this very large gap of where I am currently at and where I aspire to be, there are a great deal of obstacles I need to overcome. First, I need to land an entry level position with an accounting firm that I feel will allow me to grow and succeed. I also need to put in the time to learn as much as I can about the profession. Finally, I need to allocate a substantial amount of time to studying and passing the certified public accountant exam. This is my
