I have applied to Pittsburgh Theological Seminary for a Master of Divinity because of my desire to grow into a more mature spiritual leader at home, in the church, and within my calling into sports ministry. My previous educational experience comes from Geneva College in the MSOL Program. My time in that program was the best time of learning I have had in my adult life, the challenges academically, the theological incorporation into leadership and the ability to be myself in the learning environment are cause for me to continue my education in a different direction. Personally, I believe my transfer from Geneva to PTS will enable me to better live out my calling in a specific way through sports ministry and a gaining of a deeper theological understanding to minister to individuals while writing programs that help other leaders “lead well.” …show more content…
I anticipate that this experience will help me uncover a deeper understanding of how I can best be effective in building God’s kingdom. It has been stated that, “Everything rises and falls on leadership” (source unknown). Since I truly believe this is true I also further believe that whether I continue to remain a pastor, or God calls me deeper into other areas of ministry this PTS experience will prepare me to understand all areas of spiritual leadership, from personal, to organizational, to dealing with staff, and principles of strategic thinking that a well rounded Godly leader needs in order to be successful. Athletic Director Description- Schedules all athletic contests and scholastic bowl matches, practice times and locations for elementary, middle, and high schools. Collaborates with the maintenance department to ensure that athletic grounds and facilities are properly maintained. Serves as the primary school division decision-maker for all athletic events. Being an athletic director seems like an amazing job because of the interaction with people and being around athletics. A lot of kids are involved in at least one sport, if not more, during their life time. Being an athletic director would give the opportunities for the kids to enjoy the sport or sports they are in by having an organized program and making it a good experience for them. An athletic director’s job is very important, they make sure every thing is in tact and organized. They make the schedules and let everyone know what is going on.
My purpose in applying for a Master's Degree in Organizational Leadership is to advance my academic career through the qualities and the values of Jesuit teachings and to expand my ability to become an effective leader. Sports has been a passion of mines since I was a kid. It was not until the end of tenth grade that I realized how much basketball had influence my. Playing basketball is a way for me to escape from the real world. Playing basketball made everything feel better and made me happier.
