Feudalism is usually what comes to the minds of most people when they hear the phrases “middle ages” or ‘dark ages”. The general hierarchy of peasants and lords and noblemen and kings and so on and so forth. This topic is one that interested me in researching more because it is a part of history and shows up as a theme in our pop culture (TV, books, etc.) that most think they know they are pretty knowledgeable about subconsciously, yet they probably wouldn’t be able to give more than surface details, and this includes me. This was something you were born into, no capitalism in this society. Noblemen had the opposite life of the lowest rungs of society. They wore clothing of silk and velvet with fine jewelry, where poor folk had one rough set of assumingly non-fashionable earth colored clothing. So snobby were these men and women that they passed a law stating that peasants were not allowed to wear clothes of good quality, because that would be deceiving of a title they didn’t have. These clothes were also grandiose in color and design. Hunting was a popular pastime of noblemen.
