Please join me in saying the prayer to the Holy Spirit. Come, Holy Spirit, fill the hearts of your faithful and kindle in us the fire of your love. Send forth your Spirit and we shall be created. And you shall renew the face of the earth. O God, who by the light of the Holy Spirit did instruct the hearts of the faithful, grant that by the same Holy Spirit we may be truly wise and ever enjoy your consolations, through Christ our Lord. Amen.
As loving Christians, we resemble flashlights. Batteries, the energy source for a flashlight, are useless until someone turns the switch on. When turned on, the batteries’ energy creates light. A flashlight, properly used, will illuminate all that is around it. Christians, whose love has been energized by God’s grace and nurtured through grace, through study and prayer are now ready to shine--not for people to look at, but for people to see who they can become. God’s grace energizes Christians to love. The twin batteries of study and prayer are ready to go. We need to “turn on” the switch of Christian Action so people will have the light of God to see who they can become. Butterflies are nice to look at, but more importantly, we Christians are to live our lives in such a way that others will know how to become butterflies themselves.

A Model of Christian Charity points us in the direction of enlightenment through the love of God based on mutual respect and adoration, never lustful or sinful, and following in the spirit of connected separate bodies. John Winthrop ask his people to love one another as neighbors, as brotherly bonds whom strengthen pure love and separate this love from carnal love on a model of affection. Winthro...
Many people believe that today’s Christians are too sheltered and oblivious to the real world around them. When asked, many outsiders compared today’s Christians to “The Titanic - a ship about to sink, but unaware of its fate” or “a hobby that diverts people’s attention” (Kinnaman 120). It is important Christians to not just stay secluded in one group (church group), but to be talking to others (outsiders) so we are aware of the problems and thing that are going on in the world around us. As Christians we are called to be disciples of Jesus by reaching out to those in need, praying for those around us, and calling people to become the church. In “Unchristian” David Kinnaman outlines three main things we as Christians should include in our lives: accepting responsibility, not being fearful, helping the desperate, being prepared, and keeping a balance.
In “Intercessory Prayer’s Benefits Cannot Be Measured by Science,” Tom Ryan, a priest, says that intercessory prayer is a way for God’s healing powers. In “Intercessory Prayer Has No Medicinal Benefits,” Bruce L. Flamm argues that because intercessory prayer cannot be approved by FDA, it is not considered as a medical benefit to the people. In my opinion, a person who was a cancer will not be cured just because of a intercessory prayer. The person will need some medical’s cares to be cured; however, I think that a prayer will help the person too. It is possible to conciliate Science and Religion; while the disease will be cured by medicinal treatment, the prayer will console the person in all the anguish she may have due to their physical
Furthermore, 2 Corinthians 4:5 reads “Remember, our Message is not about ourselves; we’re proclaiming Jesus Christ, the Master. All we are is messengers, errand runners from Jesus for you. It started when God said, “Light up the darkness!” and our lives filled up with light as we saw and understood God in the face of Christ, all bright and beautiful” (MSG).
One of the main scriptural points in the lesson is from Song of Solomon that expresses that the heart should not ‘arouse love until it so desires’ and argues that “this verse points to there being a right time for “love” to be aw...
In an age when culture continues to lower standards of intellect, Marva Dawn makes compelling observations and suggestions for the Church to rethink its’ strategy on impacting society. How do we evangelize without weakening the message of what we are communicating? The majority of her text focuses on the worship environment generally, but later she focuses on music, preaching, and liturgy specifically. According to Dawn, a gathering of believers should emphasize God as the subject and object of worship, challenge each individual to grow in godly character, and accentuate the community of believers (not only in the room, but throughout history as well). Through this grid, she encourages leaders and participants to evaluate each worship element. If these primary goals are accomplished, then worship will not be empty and simpleminded. Instead the worship atmosphere would be held to a higher standard and, she believes, both pleasing to God and attractive to those who do not know God.
Moved by faith in God, we commit ourselves to promote the healing that rises at one as well as the other private and environmental levels from integrated lives dedicated to serving God and humanity. As we have looked in to the Christian worldview of God, our humanity, the Son of God, and the restoration of our lives back into God’s purpose. Now we have a better understanding of what it means to be a member of the Christian community. God wants believers to dwell in union and in community having the same mind that is in Jesus Christ (Phil 2:1-11). This paper showed how God and Jesus Christ are at the fundamental core of all Christian beliefs regardless of the countless differences many Christians may
We learn in 1 Corinthians 13 that love is the greatest gift to have and we do know that the gifts from the Holy Spirit will end.
In this paper, I will emphasize on the Ministry of the Holy Spirit. I aim to demonstrate the Power of the Holy Spirit and how the Believer can be transformed by the working ministry of the Holy Spirit. Many believers do not understand the Ministry of the Holy Spirit, therefore, tend to believe that they are motivated, and operate within their own power. The Trinity plays a dynamic role in understanding this unique ministry. Therefore, I will communicate the importance of understanding and having the knowledge of the Trinity roles. In the Book of Acts of the New Testament, it is written how the Power of the Holy Spirit comes upon the people of God and lives were changed. This paper will challenge that the Power of the Holy Spirit will regenerate
“First, there is the call to be a Christian. Second, for each individual there is a specific call—a defining purpose or mission, a reason for being. Every individual is called of God to respond through service in the world. Third, there is the call that we face each day in response to the multiple demands on our lives—our immediate duties and responsibilities” (Smith, ...

The praying time cannot be shorter than 3 minutes. The length of time depends on the persons and his state, sometimes one likes to pray more. Islam considers many activities in life as worship such as cleaning your house, working. In praying there is a pattern where people kneel and bow couple of times and repeat the words of Quran. Each prayer has a specific number of kneels and bows, so some prayer times is longer than others. The mosque is used differently during “Jumha” Friday prayer; people pray and listen to the “kutbah” speech afterwards. Quran as a sacred object is used in praying when the person stands to read the holy words of Allah.
