Personal Statement For The Fredonia Volleyball Team

Throughout the past four years, I have enjoyed growing as a person at the State University at Fredonia. I am honored to have been selected as a candidate for a student marshal position, and it is with much humility that I write this essay. I have worked hard and my contributions to the school have shaped who I have become. I have given my peers a hardworking, and humble role model throughout my schooling, athletic performance, and community service event planning.

Playing for the Fredonia volleyball team has allowed me to be a part of something that is bigger than myself. Each day, I had the ability to improve as an athlete and leader in order to give back to Fredonia. From the first day of preseason, freshman year, I chose hard work over complacency and fought to represent SUNY at Fredonia the best that I could. Whether it was on or off the court, I knew that I was not only a student from Fredonia, but I was an athlete who shouldn’t bring any negative attention to the school. I hosted many recruits for the team and my coach gave me the majority of them, saying that I was someone who would be a positive role model for the students and parents to meet. Many of these recruits chose Fredonia and have said that I was one of the reasons that they liked this school so much. I dedicated many hours to becoming the strongest that I could be and believe that I will leave a lasting mark on the volleyball program. During my senior season, I was very excited to have broken the total assist record for Fredonia volleyball. The record was broken under my name, however it is a statistic that my teammates helping me earn.

...p to the success of a strong education program and volleyball program from the beginning. My leadership, volleyball performance, and community service have contributed to the school and I believe that I should receive the honor of becoming a student marshal.

In my years at Fredonia, it has not been about recognition, but more about working hard and never settling for less than my best. I have shared excitement with others for their accomplishments and would like to congratulate all of the students who have received an opportunity to become a student marshal too. I hope that with the contributions I have made to Fredonia, it has become a better place. I am a firm believer in leading by example and think that I have given the students of Fredonia a great role model to look up to through hard work, leadership, and humility. I am honored to be considered for this role.
