Introduction Brenda Wagner, Director of Administration and Human Resources of Kudler Fine Foods, asked our team to review the company’s employee files and other documents to assess its readiness for change. Our goal is to describe the apparent culture at the company, the organizational structure, what can our team infer about the leadership style based on the organizational performance, how that leadership style is evidentially reflected in the employees motivation, and what things are happening external and internal to the company that could drive to a change. Kudler Fine Foods Organizational Behavior Kudler Fine Foods mission statement acknowledges that they want to “provide their customers with the finest in selected foodstuffs, wines, and related needs in an unparalleled consumer environment.” This statement is the core belief of the company, to provide specialty foods and services with exceptional quality and unbeatable prices. Kudler proves their support in their product by offering a money back guarantee if the quality is unsatisfactory. Not only does Kudler believe in complete satisfaction, but also they value a knowledgeable staff. It is important that current and perspective employees have a working knowledge of gourmet cooking and are able to give expert advice to all consumers. Kudler also believes in an open door policy, as it states in the employee handbook “when employees deal openly and directly with management, the work environment can be excellent, communications can be clear, and attitudes can be positive.” This represents the care and concern that management takes when dealing with employees, making sure the company is harmonious all the way through.
