Dear Principal, Why should you end our use of backpacks? They are such a tool to carry our large heavy books around. Some folks have afterschool activities. Or sports such as soccer, volleyball. We certainly need our backpacks.
After a long day of school don't you just want to demolish your backpack and fall into a nice long smoothing bath? Well imagine not having a backpack at all? How exhausted will you be? That will be a horrific thing carrying all the stuff you have in your arms. "Well you can get a locker, that's what lockers are for.” Backpacks have long already have taken the place of lockers. The irritating days of struggling with stubborn and difficult lock combinations, carrying a sea of books and speeding through the hallways to beat the bothersome tardy bell to collect the important materials for the next course are most defiantly gone thank to backpacks. Many people buy their locker and they ran out of capacity. And darn no lockers for you. And you'll have to carry all those books with you. Without bags, students are need to carry binders, heavy textbooks and an affluence of necessary materials and of course items for all of their classes in their tired hands.
Many people are in sport or other activities such as Art, Band, Drama and Dance they might have to carry an extra bag with them. But that will be a total disaster if they don’t. What if they don't even have a locker? It would be certainly impossible to carry all of that stuff in their hand. And if they are so unorganized like that it will make them less proficient later on in life. That’s why back bags benefits students in other extracurricular activities. Last but not least they mostly teach students responsibility! How would they study for an important test ...

Who wants young children to be exposed to these very health risking dangerous things. Drug distributing is huge thing. Children can be involved with gangs, and even worse cartels on offering these drugs. They should find a much more convenient way to prevent this stuff to come into school grounds without enforcing to give up our back bags.
Overall, I think the not wearing a back bag to school is unfortunate. We should be allowed to carry backpacks to school to each of our classes so it would decrease the amount of tardies, increase our responsibility and commitment! Backpacks are an obligatory part of a student’s success, and without them, the learning flow would be disturbed.
A new policy is needed and most certainly should start out with holding schools to handle their own discipline situations, rather than relying on school security and police (Wilson, 2014). School administrators must be able to differentiate between what is a true discipline situation and when a student simply made a mistake. The rate of school suspensions have skyrocketed over the last thirty years from 1.7 million nationwide to 3.1 million and growing today (ACLU, n.d.). Each school needs to create policies of when to get school security involved and what the school’s security job involves. Unless there is a true threat to the safety of the school and/or its student’s law enforcement should never be called (Wison, 2014). The instinct to dial 911 at every infraction has to stop. Following the Columbine tragedy in 1999, “school systems across the nation introduced the zero-tolerance policies aimed at the curtailment of harmful student behaviors” (Noll, 2014, p. 295). The original focus of the policies was to eliminate the use/carrying of weapons but soon after spread to restricting drugs and medication (2014). By 2006 95% of the U.S. public schools had adopted the zero-tolerance policies and more than half of them reported taking significant action against students, many of which resulted in expulsion (2014). While the zero-tolerance polices were originally welcomed by all members of a community as a means of promoting and keeping a safer environment-- as of late many individuals are questioning the relevance of some actions and some school officials (2014).
Another major reason why juveniles are ending up in the juvenile justice system is because many schools have incorporate the zero tolerance policy and other extreme school disciplinary rules. In response to violent incidents in schools, such as the Columbine High School massacre, school disciplinary policies have become increasingly grave. These policies have been enacted at the school, district and state levels with the hopes of ensuring the safety of students and educators. These policies all rely on the zero tolerance policy. While it is understandable that protecting children and teachers is a priority, it is not clear that these strict policies are succeeding in improving the safety in schools.
...university needs to stop requiring packaged materials and should move away from textbooks that require one-time access codes. Also, they can reuse textbooks for several semesters because the core information remains the same from edition to edition, eliminating the need to constantly replace the stock with every new edition. Students would be held responsible for the condition of their assigned book, and will also be given the option of keeping it at the end of the semester. In either case, the school has options in place to recover the cost of the textbook should a student destroy or decide to keep a specific book. By implementing such a program, students at the University of Delaware will be less inclined to resort to illegal measures to save money, and they will certainly be less likely to incur even more debt as the cost of college tuition continues to rise.
However the pros can easily rebut the allegation of the Cons. Young men as energetic as they will be are constantly requiring to do something. Think of the pockets as a restraining device to prevent fidgeting and fooling around with other students.
It is necessary for the schools in the United States to take more action in order to keep the students safe during the day. It is obvious that schools are not safe, forcing everyone to take a part in stopping the violent behavior which takes place in schools on a daily basis. There are many warning signs and ways to prevent this violence from taking place, it is just a matter of using money more wisely and creating more programs for preventing violence before it erupts in schools. There is no excuse for students to feel unsafe in an environment which the government forces them to be in. It is necessary that more action take place and that more training take place in order for schools to be safer, and in the event where violence does occur, the staff of the school is equipped to stop it before it gets out of hand. There is no time like now to keep the children and our schools safe from predators and especially from school violence.
The schools had also brought in school officers to have on school grounding during school hours. They feel that they need these type of secured to have their children protected. Parents feel a little say knowing that there is a police in school patrolling. In several school they have started to do searches to make sure no one is bring anything dangerous that could harm a person. This is super important to makes sure no weapons are on school grounds. Nowadays, we see many teenagers dress in spaghetti-strap tank tops, low-cut shirts, drop pants, pajamas, and even spandex shorts in school even though there have been policies about dress codes. Teachers, parents, and other adults feel disgruntled about the way they dress. Many students also complain about difficulties in concentrating on schoolwork because of the same reason. Obviously, what students wear to school has become a very distracting issue in the school environment. Therefore, school uniforms should be required in public schools due to many reasons.
Frequent schools across the country have a dress code, but some do not. There is great controversy as to whether schools should have uniforms. I take the affirmative side to this statement, strongly believing that schools should have uniforms to serve both their staff as well as the student body. School uniforms have proven extremely beneficial to the school and the student body. Requiring students to wear uniforms within school systems is a great idea. Not only do they promote equality, but they also save parents money and keep children safe (K). In addition, they signify rules, punctuality, and obedience. According to Hunt (1945), school uniforms would be a great idea because it gives children a sense of identity. Although a great number of the students want to wear their own clothes, such as baggy jeans, halter tops, and short skirts, which are inappropriate for school, uniforms would be a great stabilizer for students as well as their schools.
With having uniforms everyone is wearing the same thing to school every day so what is there to judge? You wear the same exact thing she or he is wearing. Wearing uniforms to school will make the pride in the school become stronger since students are most likely have the school colors on their uniforms. Adopting school uniforms has shown to improve behavior and academic achievement; schools should adopt them for the next school year.

Anyone can sneak into YOUR school wearing a uniform pretending they are a student, and possibly be selling illegal items. Say two people look alike, wearing the same uniform. One of them has committed a serious crime. They both walk by the camera at the same time. You can’t tell them apart. So safety? Same thing as theft. They say this is a free country, when they do this and make students wear uniforms, this curtails their freedoms. The school board is giving off one simple message by doing this...
Not having students worry about their appearance during school will help the students to not become distracted during a lesson. Demand Media states, “One of the major distractions that schools without uniforms undergo is the student’s focus on the wardrobe of others. In schools with the uniform policy, the playing field is leveled” (Spanner n.pag.). Students focus on others’ clothing, either to judge or to wish to have it. However, with the uniforms, there is no need to want peer’s clothes, because they are wearing the same garments. Of course, students shouldn’t have the need to distress over the fact of what they are to wear to school; instead they should learn to appreciate themselves as a person. They are so caught up with the idea of “I have to wear this” or “No one wears this anymore” that they are forgetting to be themselves; they are forgetting who they truly are. They become stressed; they become anxious over something that should not have such a huge importance in their life. Providing uniforms to high school will reduce the stress and anxiety that has built up in the bodies of the students.
Experts have also said that most violent conflicts among school-age children can be traced back to long- simmering disputes (Apfel 21). Carrying guns and other weapons around schools is becoming more and more popular all around the world. People think that carrying guns around schools with them will make them cool or fit in with other people like themselves. They're wrong. More and more people who are carrying guns around schools today are getting caught and having them taken away. Since schools have gotten metal detectors and scanners, they have cut down the rate of having handguns in schools by nearly 58%(Glazer 5). Security experts have reported that there is no evidence that a metal detector will solve the problem of violence in schools, even though it offers a highly visible symbol to the community (Apfel 22). Even if the schools with all the gun violence in their schools do put in metal detectors at the front entrances of schools, their are many ways kids can sneak in weapons to school.
