Persuasive Essay: The Importance Of School Uniforms

School uniforms have become more common nowadays than before. They used to be worn in private schools only it was very rare to go to a public school and see students wearing the same designated outfit. But not everyone is fond of wearing uniforms to school, many people see it as teachers and school administration taking away the rights of self-expression from students. But that shouldn’t really matter because kids and teenagers go to school to gain knowledge and be prepared for the real world not to show off their new pair of shoes to other kids.

What students wear is a common target for bullying, lots of students will be picked on for what they wear and will be labeled as someone their not just because of appearance instead of the admirable qualities and their character. Some students can’t afford brand name fashion like their upper and middle peers instead they might have to go to a second hand store to buy their clothes or use handy downs from their older siblings instead. This can affect students’ self-esteem and cause them to do poorly in school. But having a uniform implemented it reduces this common issues from happening and it can help build a sense of unity in a school. Also wearing a school uniform reduces social classes.

This can affect a student’s learning it they get in trouble a lot for this. Having a school uniform though reduces this issue though and this can have a positive impact on students because they will come into school looking clean-cut, and be more motivated to participate in school and grade averages will
