Family: A Matriarchal Family

My childhood prepared me for my situation. My father was the head of our immediate family. However my mother was on the front lines, so to speak. She was always available for us. My father worked a lot and slept a lot. He was the provider, which freed up my mother to handle all issues regarding the house and children.
Observing my mother, showed me the strength and love a woman has with regards to her family. She cleaned house, cooked meals, attended to kids, and made us all feel loved. All which she learned by viewing her mother and aunts while growing up.
My mother grew up in a matriarchal family. The women were the decision makers, the providers as well as mama. These women nurtured and cared for their families.

A strong family structure dismisses the physical make up. Families tend to be more complex than what is on the surface.

Family consists of more than people who come from the same ancestor or those sharing the same facial features (Contributors, 2015). Family is the unity among persons who love one another. Families ultimately bond through love for one another, although, we do not always realize how to attain or display it. Love, loyalty, forgiveness and support are the key concepts which connect all family.
Even though, things are not always the way we would want them to be within our families. The issues that arise in families can be reduced by discovering ways to show love, forgiveness and support for each other. The effect of changing negative thoughts into positive outcomes. The physical likenesses among family are an added bonus. Combine respect for one another and the formula for a well-rounded family is made. Although, involving oneself with family should create an enjoyable atmosphere, this is not always the case.
Family life is not always tolerable or realistic, for many reasons. Family members make mistakes, they are human beings. These instances allow an opportunity to show forgiveness. One cannot show love without forgiveness. A life learning lesson that needs to be taught to children and remembered by adults.
When discussing love, in regards to family, forgiveness should always enter the conversation. The Bible teaches in 1Peter 4:8, “Above all, keep loving one another earnestly, since love covers a multitude of sins.”
As a family, we should remember that our God in heaven is able to love and forgive us. So we as His children should be able to love and forgive one another.
