What is involved in being Faithful to God? There are several ways one can be faithful to God. The most important aspect of being faithful to God is to have faith in that fact that all things will work out for one 's good. Romans 8:28 states, “And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.” Having faith in God is essential. Why would one serve God and not think that God has his best interest at heart? The next thing one should do to be faithful to God is to read His word and live by it. This means not just reading the Word of God but, also implementing the teachings of His word in one 's daily life. Avoiding temptation is included in implementing God 's word. Matthew 26:41 states, “Watch and pray that you may not enter into temptation. The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.” One should also implement prayer in his daily life. I like to think of family as the people God gives you to take care of in life. Psalms 11:29 states, “Whoever brings ruin on their family will inherit only wind, and the fool will be the servant to the wise.” It is important to honor family. However, one does have a duty to help all fellow man if he is in the position to do so. Although, all members of the family are usually busy, family members should gather together in a meeting to discuss ways that they can spend quality time with each other. One of the best ways to bond within a family is to vacation together. This gets the family out of their normal habitat, usually in a setting where they do not know many other people. Therefore, the family members have to communicate with one another. It is also important to have time where daily such as over dinner where everyone is free of from distractions. During this time all cell phones and other electronics should be put away, in order to facilitate open
Family as defined by Webster’s College Dictionary can be one of many different people. Family can be your parents, spouse, children, brother, sister, grandmother, uncle, any blood relative, or even people who are not blood related that share that common bond (Webster 475). My definition of family is similar to Webster’s, but I feel that there is more to it than just being a blood relative or close friend. A person’s actions, beliefs, and morals play a major role in deciding who makes it into that “family” group. Family becomes more of an idea or feeling, like love or hate, than just who a person is or where they fall in your family tree. There have been people that I have considered closer than family just by their actions, even though they were nowhere near related to me. Fortunately, I have not had any blood relation family members make me wish they were not in my “family” (maybe my older sister when we were younger, but that doesn’t count). While reading from Children and Families in our text, I came across many readings that I feel were inspired in many different ways by what the author believed was “family.” There were two readings that jumped out at me and reminded me of my view of how a family should be in their interactions with each other. They were the short story “Flight” by Doris Lessing and the poem “Mother to Son” by Langston Hughes. There was also one writing that I read that went against my idea of family and made me happy that this wasn’t the way that my family acted as I grew up, that was “Girl” by Jamaica Kincaid. And while some authors lean their writing one direction or another, Adrienn...
What exactly is family? Does this word really have any significance? This word is only mentioned directly by name in the Bible a total of five times, four of those being in the Old Testament. Genesis 2:24 reads that “Therefore shall a man leave his father and mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh.” This statement implies that “family” is a father, mother, and child/children. Essentially that is exactly what a family is. The word family in today’s society holds a different meaning in western civilization. On a psychological level, your family is a group of people who you care deeply about; they do not have to be related in any such way. Times have changed to where mothers and fathers are figures that have brought a new life in to the world, not necessarily meaning that they raised this new being. The terms mom and dad have a different connotation than mother and father;
What is Christianity and why has it been able to develop into a continuously growing and evolving religion?
When the word “family” is discussed most people think of mothers, fathers, and other siblings. Some people think of grandparents, aunts, uncles, and even cousins and more on the pedigree tree. Without family in people 's lives they would not be the same people that they grew up to be today and in the future. When people hear the word family they think about, the ones who will help them in any way they can whether it 's money, support, advice, or anything to help them succeed in life. Family will forever be the backbone of support. They are the ones who support their children during those life decisions. Family is not always blood related. Finally family is forever, family will never go away.

Family by its nature is a social unit wherein children grow up and it acts like the socialization agent. Children receive their earliest and most consistent socialization here in the family. In a family it is very important as to how parents cater the needs of their children and how children take care of them in return. Parents as well as the child are very important part of the developmental process, as it is the parents who will shape the children as what they will become. The parent child relationship influences each other and together they shape the relationship they engage in it. Family is a social unit where in all the members living together is related to one another. Family is regarded
The following essay will evaluate the importance of the journey that takes place from Systematic to Practical theology; this view will be explored through Ronelle Sonnenberg’s research done regarding ‘being together’ in a youth setting. This essay will first build on the basis of Practical Theology; furthermore addressing the importance of the community aspect within a youth setting; this will lead to the process that takes place between a Systematic stance, leading to a Practical theological stance.
... In order to understand the Bible we must read it as the Psalmist says “O how I love Thy law! It is my meditation all the day.” (Psa. 119:97). However there some suggestions to cope with the study of the Bible in effective manner. The Bible was written a long time ago before us. That is why we need to deal with some back grounds, context, and theology differs with our time. Some hermeneutics principles can help us how to work in the better frame of interpret the Bible, such as the literary context, historical context and how to compare Scripture.
At one point or another in one’s life you are faced with God, eye to eye and you know it. You can feel the Holy Spirit’s presence, like a humming sound that’s too low to hear, but it’s there and you can feel it, a feeling that you are not alone. For some, this feeling lasts for eternity, and for others God works within them again and again because the Lord’s love is persistent. The feeling I had came and went, for it was not strong enough as a child. But now, I am the strongest I have ever been.
There may be times where no one is there for you, your friends betray you in some way, and the only one that will be waiting with open arms are you family. It is very important to always cherish and appreciate the love, comfort, help, and attention that your family offers you because if you don’t, you may just end up regretting it in the end. A family does not necessarily have to be considered blood. If you have close friends that you see as a brother or sister because of their loyalty to you and the way they treat you, they are considered family. A family will always bring peace, love, and happiness, and though there may be times that you bump heads with your family members, you always run back to each other and speak as if everything is perfectly
“A family can be defined as a set of people related by blood, marriage or in some other agreed upon relationship, or adoption, who share primary responsibility for reproduction and caring for member of society". (Schaefer, 2009, p. 288) This leads to a wide open range of interpretation on the exact definition of how a family is truly made up. Depending on your culture, religion, or geographical location a family may represent and be comprised of many different ideals and social norms. There are many theoretical perspectives that have their own interpretations on the subject of what a family is and how it is perceived. I will attempt to expound on three of these perspectives; Functionalism, Conflict, and Interactionalism.
