“It is not a leap of faith to view leadership as something that an entire community does together. In such a setting, everyone is challenged to learn; no one needs to stand by in a dependent capacity. Accordingly, organisational members willingly seek feedback, openly discuss errors, experiment optimistically with new behaviours, reflect mutually on their operating assumptions, and demonstrably support one another.” (Raelin, 2006).

Leadership is an underpinning concept that is demonstrated in every aspect of life. It is therefore important to be able to understand and apply a variety of leadership approaches to an array of teams and group projects in order to manage tasks and projects in the most efficient way. It is equally as important to be able to understand when to lead and when to accept someone else’s leadership and then act as a follower. The ability to work cohesively in a team is vital when attempting to achieve a goal. Cohesiveness has been described to having two main underlying dimensions: “task cohesiveness and interpersonal cohesiveness” (Kozlowski & Ilgen, 2006). Our group became strongly interpersonally cohesive which allowed us to trust each other and feel confident around one another. This I believe is what enabled the group to complete the task to a high quality in comparison to other groups I have worked in. However, this often led to a lack of focus during the first few initial meetings and therefore productiveness declined. In the future, in order to eliminate any distractions it would be essential to remain professional in group meetings in order to remain on track to reach set
