Beginning from an era of sending letters to ancient phones followed by emails and presently social networking [6]. Online social networking is the use of an Internet website that enables self -identify and connection with other members based on one or more elements of commonality [2]. Social networking is promptly dominating the field of communication Social networking comes to play more significant part in everyday lives of not only teenagers, but business organizations, mass media, business and education, to name just a few. Based on research, online social networking sites are in the top five most visited websites on the Internet with over 116 million users and becoming challenging to live without for modern life, hence being regarded as essential to modern life [1]. This essay will argue whether online social networking is essential to modern life. Social networking is believed to have several essential benefits including keeping in contact with individuals effortlessly and cheaply, conveying information instantly, developing connections internationally, instant and cheaper professional networking.
