Many people see the D.C. comics hero Batman as another hero, but he is differs from the others in many ways. One main difference is that he is a normal human. He does not have any powers to make him special. He makes himself into a creature that criminals would fear by using is past to fuel his actions. He is one of the only heroes in the D.C. universe to hold a personal life. He is a CEO of Wayne Industries a company his family started. He is a millionaire playboy by day, but at night he is a caped vigilante. It all started with Bruce as a child. When is parents brought him to an opera. Bruce became ill and asked his parents to leave early. While they were leaving a mugger approached them and demanded their money and jewelry. His father grabbed for the gun to protect his family getting shot in the process. His mother tried to protect her husband also getting shot and killed. Bruce went through his life blaming himself for their deaths. This anger fuels his vengeance to right the wrongs and clean up Gotham city. In origin, a hero is an archetype character that refers to protectors, warriors, or god-like man who protects humanity. For instance, Hercules was a hero in Greek mythology. In modern culture, heroism is recognized as an extremely popular trait that a character can possess. In this case, Bat Man, also referred to as The Dark Knight, is indisputably idealized as a hero. Unlike most superheros in comicbooks culture, Bat Man is a simple human being with absolutely no superpowers. Regardless of that, he as a simple human being still exhibits the courage, intelligence, talent and the necessary skills in fighting crime and defeating potentially hazardous villains seeking to either rule the world or cause destruction. In detail, Bat Man’s real name is Bruce Wayne. Bruce was 10 years old when his parents were murdered which fundamentally change his perception about the world. After his parents’ death, Bruce inherited a multibillion dollar company that his father created before his birth, which explains why he has the most advanced technology to help him fight crime. While growing up, Bruce trained himself to fight and had been working out. One night, he came to the conclusion that Gotham city is falling into the hands of criminals. Miller’s version brings with it many mixed responses from fans and critics, which makes it interesting to explore whether Batman in Miller’s version is an American monomythic hero as presented by Lawrence and Jewett. Even though there is some evidence of how The Dark Knight Returns follows the monomyth, overall Batman cannot be defined as a monomythic hero.

Even though he is considered the strong and powerful superhero of Gotham City, Batman's characteristic features show that he relates strongly to that of a "tragic" hero. In the beginning, the Batman is presented at a higher state of appreciation, even though the police see him as a vigilante. Despite his wealth, Batman, otherwise known as Bruce Wayne, is easily relatable to audiences, which makes it easy to sympathize and empathize with the character. Batman is in a constant battle within himself, trying to be the good guy, while defeating the bad guys. His morals prove true when he admits that he won't kill any of the many villians that cause destruction for Gotham City. But, because of this moral, sometimes the villians end up escaping and doing more harm then good. In the end, this interal chaos and internal battle is seen interally and externally through Batman. At the end of the most recent Batman series, The Dark Knight, his exit at the end of the movie is, in essence, his figurative death. Bruce Wayne wants to keep Gotham City safe. And with the "Batman" gone, villians will be least likely to continue to destroy and conquer. Bruce stayed a man for 64 years because he was too prideful to make the transition to a woman. Bruce stated in his latest interview of Vanity Fair “Bruce always had to tell a lie. He was always living that lie. Every day, he always had a secret from morning ’til night. Caitlyn doesn’t have any secrets”(Ermac 1). Bruce is saying he told a lie everyday because he didn’t feel like he would be accepted into society. Caitlyn told everyone that he is proud of what he is doing. In fact, she said “What I’m doing is going to do some good. We are going to change the world. We are going to make a difference in the world” (Ermac 4). In the end Bruce had mixed emotions from people around the world. Many people accepted him because they were. Caitlyn had pride in her transition because she has worked to hard for everything to quit
The purpose of this paper is to provide the reader with an insight into the Super Hero Series Batman. This crime fighter originally appeared in Detective Comics issue #27 in 1939. It later became a comic book series, a TV series and a movie series. The character Batman is second only to Superman as a Super Hero. Amazingly Batman has no super powers, but he does have a lot of neat crime fighting gadgets. In this paper, we will explore the creation of Batman, his supporting cast of characters both good and bad and the gadgets he used.
Unlike Batman, who was nicknamed the "Dark Knight" due to foreboding and his dark character, Spider-man, AKA Peter Parker, is a genuine kid with strong morals and ethics who cares about virtually every citizen of New York city. While both Peter Parker and Bruce Wayne had a rough upbringing and many drastic family tragedies, only Peter was able to keep an optimistic and stable character. Peter Parker has also had to over come challenges that have strongly challenged and questioned his heroism, but have made him a better hero and strengthened his admirable character. Through his many rough experiences, Peter Parker has become a well-balanced hero, who has come to believe and demonstrate that “with great power comes great responsibility”.
Bruce Wayne was a poor kid from a poor city. His family was killed and he decides to fight crime, similar to Spider Man. Only Batman, some how got extremely rich to own his own cave, custom Bat Mobile, and have some sweet gadgets. I don’t know a lot about Batman, but I know enough that money doesn’t grow on trees. Besides, even if he did get the money reasonably, there would be other flaws. For example, there is no way he built his car him self. He had to have had a body shop customize it. And if this were the case, it wouldn’t be too hard for Joker or someone to find out...
In the inky blackness, glistening lights shone bright. Making it easy to see the towering buildings of Gotham City. Overlooking the glittering city, stood the dark brooding hero known as Batman. His black, slick cape billowed with the breeze, as his alert eyes watched for trouble. His costume was charcoal gray, with his his yellow and black emblem on the top center of his chest. The emblem was of the creature of the night, the cave dweller, the bat. His cowl, just like his cape was dark black. He wears his dark yellow utility belt, it's contents have saved him more than can be counted. Now his eyes, they're cold and dark. If you were to look at his eyes, they would make you stop dead. He wore all of his attire, not just to hide his identity, but to also strike fear in the hearts of criminals.
