Beep! Beep! Beep! The seven thirty alarm begins to go off in a small little dorm room at Pitt Greensburg. I rush around getting dressed putting all the right books in my bookbag getting ready to take on the day. I begin the long walk to powers excited to see what I am going to learn today in class. I am always a student that is always on time and does my homework, and does well in school. But my thought on class quickly changed as soon as I walked into the classroom. Its packed the only spot left is the seat in the back-left corner by the window I was even fifteen minutes early. Picture this you are sitting in your three o’clock comp tutorial on a sunny Monday afternoon. There is about twenty-five people in the classroom about half of which are very intelligent students that always do their work and actively participate in class. But the other half only come because they must be there. For example, I am sitting in class and Dr. Lutz instructs us to take out our workbook so that we can go over the exercises that we were supposed to do the previous night. As we begin to go over the exercises, he starts to call of names from the attendance sheet. He runs down the list quickly as he knows that those students have done the work from the night before. He begins to ask the people who are seated in the back right hand corner to answer, but they hesitate. All the students just eagerly sit in their seats to answer the question, but still nothing. After waiting for two minutes for the student to answer Dr. Lutz calls on someone else and they answer the question right away. These students that are not prepared for class and do not do their homework are wasting the professors time. There is certain topics that a professor has to get thorough in a semester and with students not coming prepared for class it makes the time that we have shorter. If college attendance policies were not mandatory then the college professor would get the most out of his fifty minutes in the
