Working in the social work field my clientele will be multiracial, within the dynamics of my practice the application will be placed surrounding the interpersonal conflict of within each client 's life. When working with a client, there is a primary focus revolved around the origin of the client 's problem commonly in casework oppression can be overlooked as the source in clients. Rather, pronouncing deficiencies in the person when in reality blame can be found in the environment. Client problems that originate from racism, discrimination, and acts of oppression, are in need of a less traditional caseworker methods. Requiring a caseworker that is familiar with the multicultural organizational development and aware of their racial identity. Expanding on my cultural competence allows me to socialize comfortably important biases to culturally diverse clients. See culturally competent means being aware of history experiences values and lifestyles of various multicultural groups inside society. As well as understand the impact that oppression, racism, sexism, politics of clinical work, institutional barriers, and an understanding of the socio-political systems operation in the United States that affect minority groups (Sue, 2006). This also means becoming aware of how my cultural identity has adversely impacted racism, an action step pointed out by PISAB. Becoming an upcoming white social worker, this step of learning about my racial identity was crucial. It allows me the opportunity to be comfortable talking about the injustices of the past, and present with my clients of color.
