The two video games Gears of War 3 and Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 are great games that both have some similarities but have many differences. These games are very different when it comes to their play style and how the player makes his or her way around the maps. Both these games are AAA titles that have a large budget to produce their games with high quality. The two games are shooters that have a large population of people that buy their games and continues to consistently play them on a daily basis. The storyline in Gears of War is far from being comparable to Call of Duty’s based upon the fact that Gears of War you battle against aliens and in Call of duty you fight against humans.
Gears of War's game style is very different from Call of Duty's game style in so many ways. Firstly, Gears of War is in third person view in which you view the whole character model that you control with your controller. In Call of Duty the game utilizes what's called a “first person view.” In first person view you see your character from his eyes. So all you would view is a gun and hands while in Gears of War you are able to view your whole character making it easier to see other players. Gears of War has a cover based system in which your character that you control can take cover on walls and can protect himself from incoming shots from other players opposing you. In Call of Duty, there is no cover based system. When you play the game you have to run around and hope nobody on the opposing team detects you and fires projectiles at you. This makes Gears of War as a game more tactical than Call of Duty by allowing the player to take cover on a wall. Gears of War is much more graphic than Call of Duty. It consists of people getting chains...

... the other games was the game play. They changed everything that made Gears of War unique and special. Microsoft saw Gears of War as an essential game to their Xbox console and didn't want to lose it so bought the game's ip and put together a team to work on the future Gears of War titles. Gears of War 3 sold in 2011 6 million copies world wide. Call of Duty sold 13 million just on the xbox 360 not including all the other consoles.
Both the video games Gears of War and Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 are very different from each other when you start to compare the two. Many people clump the two together in the same category just because they are of the same genre of being a shooter. But the two are very different when it comes to their game play. Also, the two plots of the two have nothing in common besides the fact you shoot enemies and fight for your homeland.
So we get many things in the game. And like Black Ops 2 was a shooting game. It was the #1 game back then. But Fortnite came out and took over all the games. I think the old game back then were better because they look nice and there are a lot of fun.
Beginning with Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, which is set in modern times, the series has shifted focus away from World War II. Modern Warfare, released November 2007, was followed
Killstreaks from previous call of duty games have been replaced with score streaks which are now earned through gaining points rather than getting kills. The weapons in Black ops 2 have a progression system which is used to unlock attachments for the weapons, after maxing out the guns players have the option to prestige the weapon but doing so resets the gun losing all the attachments until the player ranks back up again, you are able to customize your gun with emblems and clan tags in exchange for the prestige. Multiplayer is also the first call of duty to include league play into the game giving players the chance to play against each other with major league gaming (MLG) rules enforced. The game features small, medium and large maps with the usual 3 lane map design keeping the game fast paced and easy to find and kill
Many people agree that Sony’s Playstation 4 is better than Microsoft’s Xbox One and vice versa. I have been gaming since I was seven years old and still am today. The first gaming console I ever had was the original Xbox. Throughout the years though, technology has improved vastly. The last generation of game consoles gave the industry a much needed boost and gave the consumer another commodity. With the eighth generation of consoles just arriving, a lot of people are wondering which console to buy. There is, however, more than just the choice of games. There’s differences in processors, graphics cards, hard drives, design, operating systems, ports, versatility, stability, controllers, and, of course, the games.
While Bungie continues to make Halo games, the franchise itself is now overseen and published by a Microsoft-created subdivision called 343 Industries. This sub-division is also in charge of the recently released Halo: Legends anime/CG short-movie compilation, the comic books and all tertiary products, like the upcoming animated television series based on the machinima comedy shorts, Red vs. Blue.
...xtreme jugg. This game blows all the other games out of the water this game might even have more sales then black ops two.
Tavinor’s article argues that video games should be categorized as art. He outlines competition as one of the reasons that people to object to including games as an art form. However, competing does not take away from the aesthetic value of the game, and like Tavenor stated, if someone were to submit a poem into a contest no one would think twice about considering that art. When does competition start? If someone makes a painting with an intent to make something prettier than their brother has, would that be considered art? I think that competition is not a factor. There are marvelous aesthetics in Spec Ops that I doubt anyone can not call art if they have seen the game. Art has a long history of breaking through molds and forcing people to see concepts differently. Spec Ops broke the mold of what I assumed war video games could be and made me see the complexity of war differently. It made me asks questions I never thought to produce before, which I think is one of the most valuable aspects of art. As The New Art of Video Games states, these works engage with their audiences differently by using a narrative and letting their decisions change the outcomes. It may be a unique form of art because of its roots in technology, but that is no reason to reject it. One question did stick with me as a result of playing this game. At the end, a soldier asked how we survived
Robocop, released in 1987 directed by Paul Verhoeven, is a film about the city of Detroit which suffers from many crimes, to stop these crimes they create a part human robot that is indestructible, but they encounter problems a long the way. On the other hand, WarGames was released in 1983 directed by John Badham, this film is about a teenager that discovers a glitch in the military computer and almost causes a war with Russia. The film Robocop and WarGames are ones that focus on the time periods of the 1970’s and the impact that the government had on the people.
LucasArts have always used this to their advantage and up until recently their games line-up almost consisted of all star wars titles. ‘Knights of the old republic’ and ‘Star Wars Battlefront’ have been two of their most famous spin off’s of the franchise. Recently LucasArts have diversified their operations, including the upcoming Fracture game, but their Star Wars titles still remain their best sellers.
In Treatise on Toleration, Voltaire argued that since religious intolerance is “absurd and barbaric” for it rebuts natural law it is far worse than the right of the tiger “for tigers do but tear in order to have food, while we rend each other for paragraphs.” However, imagining that there were no religion or that the idea of religism-discrimination against a specific religion, does not carry on, is easier said than done; that is why John Lennon said to “imagine” a world of peace and tolerance in his Imagine instead of “see” for this concept is still in a dreamer’s mind and not yet in reality.
Although video games have become more and more popular as time changes, it still has to face the criticism, ‘media panic’. Meida panic happens when a new media appears; people will have a highly emotional discussion about it (Drotner, 1999).
Video games have come a long way. They have evolved from the simple game of Pong into a complex, multi-platform, multi-genre, multi-billion dollar industry.
I’m the type of guy that would go out and buy a Call of Duty game, pop it open and gather all my friends and jump right into it. Call of Duty is one of the most popular games out and many people love to play. It is competitive, it has online play, and you can also create a clan or group to play against other people around the world online. Call of Duty dates back to 2003 and really wasn’t popular then because it’s all about killing your enemy. Many parents didn’t want their child to play the game. Growing up, I didn’t know much about video games, so I wasn’t really into them until I started playing Call of Duty. Not only does it have military based features, it also has zombies and/or aliens features as well.
...ter this release, Call of Duty: Ghosts surpassed $1 billion dollars in sales within the first day alone. This was a huge success and surprise considering the older version of Call of Duty did not raise $1 billion dollars in sales until the 15th day after it's release.
Yet developers put a lot of effort into them to try and find that one mode that everyone will like. If I was to create my own video game it would have the basis of the game life, where you start as a character that you get to design and choose where and how you begin. As you play the game it would adapt to how you act in different environments and how you treat or respond to the npcs. The game would have very many different paths and depending how you choose to play would decide how you died in the end and what type of legacy you would leave. Would you be a doctor who cured cancer or a special ops solider that saved a lot of peoples lives or be a crazy leader that would try to take over the world. Now I do understand for the creation of this game would take a very long time and funding would be tough to make such a big game to be made, but if I had the resources I would make a game like this where you choose how you want it to be
