Educational research refers to using a variety of methods, to gain a higher understanding of the education system. Research involves looking at one aspect of education, and expanding your knowledge in that area, however, (Sharp, 2009, p.1) ‘Educational research has now become so diverse and complex that beyond even the most basic of definitions it no longer has any single identity’.
There are a range of different methods which can be used to collect data. The first method is quantitative and qualitative research, which are both data collection methods. Quantitative data mainly uses numbers and statistical evidence, which can be collected by using questionnaires and surveys. It also looks at teachers views of bully’s and how they are seen to be weaker in terms of academic performance, which may be the reason why they bully, because they feel in a vulnerable position in school, however they also viewed bullied children to have worse moods and worse social competencies.
As you can see, both these literature reviews look at different aspects of bullying within primary school, and both give a range of different ideas and results.
