Junk food is one of the most controversial thing that is happening in our school system, weather you are the side that thinks that it should be banned, or on the side that thinks it is a huge problem it is still a big argument. I’m here today to tell you that junk food is a very big cause of obesity in not only children but also in adults later in life. Junk food should be banned in schools because obesity rates will lower in america, Kids on sugar have a tough time learning and also slowing the brain down, and finally cause the diabetes rate will keep going down.
It is a fact that obesity rates will lower in america if americans stop feeding children all of this junk food that is very unneeded in our school system. As shown in Lindsay Tanner’s article, (1) she says “Laws strictly curbing school sales of junk food and sweetened drinks may play a role in slowing childhood obesity”. Basically in the quote she is talking about how if laws are made to cut down of the sale of junk food then it can have a really big impact the obesity rates. Laws cutting down on sales of fatty food a sugar filled drinks can play a role in slowing down childhood obesity (1). People love to say that they want change but don’t really do anything to make it happen(1).
