Many people have mixed ideas on cell phone use in schools. Some say that they are distraction and disrupt class. While some of these claim are true, it is only because of the occasional misuse by some students. In reality cell phones have a wide range of beneficial use in the school setting. Phones can be used to communicate with parents, teachers can use cell phones in assignments for access to the internet, plus phones can be used during down time to occupy students. There are many favorable uses for cell phones, and they shouldn't be banned from school. If there is an emergency where the parent needs to get in touch with the student, the student will be able to respond to their parent in dire situations. This also works in vise versa. Say if the student forgot something, like an assignment, books, work out clothes, etc, the student will then be able to communicate with their parent that they left one of these items at the house and ask them to bring it to them. What ever needs to be communicated to the student at school can be via cell phone. This is just one prominent reasons that cell phones should not be banned from school. …show more content…

Instead of hauling everyone to the computer lab to look up research for a paper, students can just pull out their cell phones and scour the internet with their cell phones. This would save time on the teachers part, because they would not have to schedule an appointment for their class to go to the computer lab. It also saves valuable class time because the teacher does not have to waste time bringing kids to and from the classroom, the students just have to pull out their cell phones.
