To start the act of spanking is one of the main forms of disciplines that parents resort to when their children disobey them. Timeout however, is a form of discipline that is used in schools or other environments where a biological parent is not present. Timeout is the act of removing a child away from a social environment to be on their own. It is a quiet period in which the child can calm down. It is also one of the main forms of discipline recommended by the Arkansas Department of Human Services. It is important because the timeout will not harm the bond the child has made with their caretaker. The bond between a child and a caretaker is the key in a child’s early development. A child will conform and adapt their attitude and personality
