I was in my third grade classroom when I realized the importance of life, I was only nine years old when I realize that every single individual has a purpose in life, at the age of nine I was determined to achieve all my desires. I obtain this motivation at a young age, due to the fact that I was named student of the year in the third grade; although in the first grade I was far behind from any student in my classroom. I moved to the United States when I was six years old, I arrived in this country without knowing how to speak, read, or write the language. It seemed extremely difficult to catch up with the rest of the class, but in a few months I was able to catch up with my peers. I was extremely despondent because my biggest desire was to attend college, graduate with a business degree, and assist individuals all around the world. At this time in my life, I realized that I was going to have to depend on my grades if I wanted to attend college. Now that I am a High School Senior, I am honored to say that I am the Valedictorian of my graduating class. The past four years of my life have been difficult; from personal issues to endless nights without sleep; studying for tests and doing homework. Although it was not as simple as I thought, my determination helped me conquer my desires. Now that I have the grades for college, the most difficult part will be obtaining the financial help that I need, which means that the Dr. Carreon Foundation Scholarship will highly benefit me.
