It seems that as a kid and as a teen that, we have little to no confidence; which causes the thought in almost everyone to think “I hate school”. When I was a kid I would always think or here my fellow classmates saying “I hate school”and everyone would rather be at home. And to be honest I was one of those kids; and one thing different from the others was, “I took the wrong path”. I believe that confidence is the key to success. I always had a tough time in school when I was little because I would be the kid that played too rough; and didn't make the best decisions. This would always put me in the principal's office. Two people would change my life forever, my teacher, Mrs. Shuka, and the vice principal, Mr. Hulbert. I can always remember Mrs, Shuka and how she gave us rewards for turning in our completed work. I can still picture the blue dollar bills, pink five dollar bills, purple ten dollar bills and the awesome 50 dollar bills. As the end of the year came we had a big party for getting multiple complements which counted as a letter; in which we had to make 30 words. This to me was the turning point in my life, I had sat in the grass, in the gloomy light, looking at the class thinking if this is what confidence is like i’m not going to ever again give it up. And the day before at lunch I was eating my lunch in Mr. Hulberts room like I do everytime, if I could. I can remember my turkey with cheese and mustard sandwich, with my ice cold sobe drink, my reese's peanut butter stick, and cheese stick. And his nice and ice cold room that felt so good on those really mugy days, that i felt like I was cooking from the inside out. And almost every time he would pull out the cribbage board and weed play togeather. And this was to get to know me and help me with my roughness and on that day he gave me a cribbage board. In the years of 2001 to 2004, right before “Never Let Me Go” by Kazuo Ishiguro was published, scientists were trying to come up with a way to clone humans for the sole purpose of improving the health of real humans. Their idea did not seem so terrifying at the time, but Ishiguro brings the experiment to life and exposes its reality by showing what effect genetically manipulating humans could have on society. “The novel [should] be read as a warning against [cloning]...and the moral issues it raises (Constantakis, Pg. 211).” The amount of truth and possibility of this fictional world becoming a reality is eerily frightening; Cloning is detrimental to human beings, and would destroy our community on a worldwide scale.
I have been fifteen for almost one month. Up until now, being fifteen years old has been very enjoyable. As a fifteen-year-old, you have no responsibilities, you become more independent, and you make great memories that last a lifetime. In no way is fifteen a poor year.
