Industrialized nations need to commit to climate change efforts. Many powerful industrialized nations are simply not committing themselves to international initiatives. State behavior towards climate change and environmental law is promoting social and economic insecurity. In fact, the world’s most powerful nations are doing little to ease the burden of insecurity of other nations. Rather, many powerful nations are promoting insecurity and inequality in the world through their lack of care for climate change. In order prevent irreversible environmental damage, industrialized nation must commit to international efforts and stop ignoring initiatives, because it is causing issues across the globe.
Climate change is an extremely important issue that must be dealt with now. The damage that results from climate change is very significant. To date, 300,000 deaths have occurred, and another 300 million have suffered from the effects of climate change. However, the current statistics of damage done to humans is minuet, in comparison to the damage that will occur if we continue on with the current system. Scientific research indicates that the average world temperature will rise by 1.4c to 5.8c. To an average person the increase of one degree of average temperature is deceivingly low. Every year many people across the planet are displaced due to climate change. Unfortunately, the most effected by climate change are those from poor nations. For instance, Sudan has hundreds of thousands of people displaced from their homes due to climate change. Additionally, double victimization to climate change is occurring, because people most affected by climate change also live in poverty. Many are powerless to combat the effects of climate change and cannot cope with its effects. Yet, the people that suffer the most from climate change are those that are least responsible to emission
