Do you think that children should be limited on the amount of time that they can play or be on electronics? I strongly believe that parents should monitor their kids' computer and set limits. Too much time on electronics is not good for the overall health and well-being of children. I am not the only one who thinks children should be limited on electronics. Doctors from the Mayo Clinic, pediatricians, and eye doctors recommend children should be limited to no more than two hours a day on electronic devices. For example, I saw my eye doctor back in June, and she discussed with me how important eye sight is. My mom told her that I play video games too much and asked about it. Preview the games or apps before allowing your child to play with them to make sure some games also engage your child educationally, rather than just require pushing or staring at the screen. Make sure, they are appropriate content for their age. Make sure you instruct your child about Internet safety with their electronics or closely monitor their activities. Set and enforce daily screen time limits. I would recommend creating tech-free zones or times, such as during mealtime and close to bedtime. Managing your child's use of media time will be an ongoing challenge. If you develop household rules and then revisit them again as your child gets older, you can help ensure a fun and safe experience with the use of electronic time. Developing good healthy habits for children now is very important for them for the future. Less time, on electronics will give them more reasons to want to go outside and play and get some exercise. Parents believe it is not healthy and therefore should be restricted. The two articles, “Blame Society, Not the Screen Time” by Dana Boyd and “Don’t Limit Your Teen’s Screen Time” by Chris Bergman, both talk about how parents should not limit their kid’s screen time.
In conclusion parenting is a full time job to help the young ones learn and coup with the childhood problems, and keep a watch out for them is a difficult task in modern age. Use of technology by parents is their way caring but overdoing hurts the relationship. Parents need more often to talk to kids about their issues rather than pointing out their mistakes using Hi-Tech devices. There is nothing more pure then the love of parents and their kids, and no technology can replace that care and love. That is why parents should definitely not use these devices on their children.
Due to this argument, parents and children now heavily rely on technology for a main source of play, limiting the challenges of all creativity and imagination (Rowan 3). Although technology can provide some games and tools that can help children learn, it does not provide the same benefits as actual play and actually causes more harm than good. One of the main problems with play through technology is the fact that children are seeing a “symbolic representation of the real world” and are not receiving a direct experience of the real world with real people and materials (Rice 3). The more time children spend looking at a screen, the more they are isolating themselves and not spending time with other children and adults (Rice 3). This is not only damaging to the learning development of a child, but also the healthy development of forming relationships and social skills (Rice 3). Many people believe that by handing their three year old an Ipad or Kindle it’s helping their brain development and enhancing their learning skills. There are some benefits but parents may be holding their children back from fully developing skills that are essential later in life. Parents should limit the use of technology by their children in order for that child’s creativity, deep thinking skills, and ability to focus to develop properly.

Between 2011 and 2013 kids age 8 and under more than doubled their use of media devices. Children under 2 were even higher. Kids cpend an avrage of about 7.5 hours of screen time per day. Guidelines say that children older than 2 years should be limited to about 2 hours a day, and younger children should have no screen time, period.

Technology interferes with education, attention spans, relationships, social interactions, self esteem, and even creativity. In order for technology to have more pros than cons, it is pertinent to keep a clear perspective. Monitoring how much you or your children spend time using electronics is the key to making sure that technology is not harmful.

Parents have to consider keeping computers gaming systems and other devices that can access to the internet in a common area of the house, so parents can monitor their children’s use and ensure that their children don’t become secretive about accessing the internet. Also, parents have to consider restricting internet use on devices such as smartphones use by children. Smartphones and other devices are harder to monitor, so parents may want to simply disable internet access on such devices through their service provider.
