Athletes over the world are being paid millions of dollars to play sports. There are firemen and soldiers that risk their lives everyday and do not get paid near as much as them. They play one game and get millions. Teachers work everyday of the week and their pay is way different. If it wasn't for us they would get paid as much because they wouldn't be as much interest in the sports if no one was watching it. The average salary for each sport is $6.2 million for NBA, $4.4 million for MLB, $2.9 million for NHL, $2.1 million for NFL, and $308,969 for MLS. not let's compare that the the military and teacher salary. The military gets paid approximately $99,000 with 60% of that being non cash. We pay a lot and maybe even too much to watch people play a sports. This adds up quickly and because they’re in the pay roll they’re getting a lot of this money. Split evenly every player is getting thousands of dollars Also another reason is because we look so highly at them, if we didn’t give them as much attention as we do they wouldn’t get this much money, these big companies like Nike, Reebok, and Adidas wouldn’t be giving them millions and millions of dollars to their company.
