Did you ever feel like someone was about to threaten you and if so, would you do something about it? For many centuries, crime has taken place everywhere. At least one person a day dies due to crime. It especially took place in New York City, in the past, when crimes were more frequent. Some citizens during the early centuries would not react to situations related to crimes. Through the years, the citizens slowly learned some self-defense skills to help handle situations like this. One believes Goetz shot the kids for self-defense. Goetz knew how to handle situations like this so he did. Back then in New York City, most citizens brought a weapon in their pockets for self-defense. If someone is doing something harmful to you or is trying to hurt you have a weapon to protect yourself. This was the best possible way to protect yourself from criminals in the past. Goetz took the weapon out to protect himself from the four kids. It was also told they had weapons with them. On top of that, the four kids have criminal records, which means they were in acts related to crimes, which means they could have done anything to Goetz. Everyone has an instinct that if you think someone is going to harm you they probably are. Goetz knew the kids were up to no good so he used his common sense and shot the kids knowing something bad was going to happen to him if he did not do anything. Having a criminal record can mean a lot about that person and their past. In this situation, the four kids were criminals that probably commit crimes and get away with it. Goetz has actually done a favor for other citizens around New York City and the world because if he didn't shoot them everyone would be endangered and the kids could do anything to
