Volunteering In Schools

Did you know that only 50 percent of teens in the United States volunteer because they have the passion to do it? The other half of teens do volunteering just for college, a Scholarship, or it being a requirement. The numbers have been dropping since 2004, so schools and colleges should mandate students to volunteer in communities to become more social, to help your career and to put less stress on others.

Volunteering allows you to be more social. Would you rather stay home playing video games all day like a koala or go out or would you help the community? In life (not only school or your job) you will need to be a person that someone can admire you because you have taken off time off of your day to help them. Schools are asking you to volunteer for your own good. People can look up to you and you can gain some knowledge by making friends with those people you were being nice to. Also you will get some trust throughout the community. Helping others can really make you get used to being nice to others. For example, helping people in an orphanage can make the orphan’s day better because they know that people actually care for them and that they are respected in some way. Volunteering will allow to get life out of studying, help other people more, get yourself in a good job, and get admiration. Schools and Colleges should definitely mandate volunteering. If schools don’t mandate volunteering, then all students will become lazy and a lot of people will have a bad attitude in their career. If schools mandate volunteerism, then students will interact with better people in their high school and job. Schools know how other kids have become successful and they are improving the kids of today. Volunteering is probably how some very successful people came to be
